The second book in Jonathan Maberry’s V-WARS series, BLOOD & FIRE cranks up the carnage to “11,” thanks in no small part to my story “Hippo.” Yes, this is my first vampire story, and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever read. This delicious & twisted tale will leave you hungry for more (or sick to the stomach, really kind of depends on your tastes … ).
BOOK SYNOPSES:
It’s been one year since a virus triggered junk DNA and people all over the world started changing. Becoming something else. Craving blood. It’s been ten months since the word ‘vampire’ stopped being something from old monster stories and Hollywood movies. It’s been six months since our world and theirs erupted into war. It’s been two months since an uneasy peace was signed. It’s been one hour since that peace was shattered. The war is here again. The vampire war. Our world will burn. Our world will bleed! When anyone can turn, when every street is a battlefield, there is nowhere to run! V Wars: Blood and Fire features all new stories of the Vampire Wars by Kevin J. Anderson, Scott Sigler, Larry Corriea, Joe McKinney, Nancy Holder, Yvonne Navarro, Weston Ochse, James A. Moore, and Jonathan Maberry.
So help me Christ, if your vampire even hints at sparkling…
@athanas: Only his dookers. Sometimes he eats emo vamps, and you can’t help what your poops look like.
Duh?…Was this before or after the Black Rain, because if I was a vampire, I’m not too sure thats the kind of blood I would like to drink.
@Wilbur: I’m not catching the “Black Rain” reference. What’s it from?
The Lunar rotations of the X-37B shuttle. Who knows what types of strange alien particles were released when she landed. Is it just me or does this strange weather a little scarry?…Moon spells duh?
@Wilbur: Hard to go wrong with stories inspired by real-world space events. I give you NIGHT OF THE COMET as an example of B-movie perfection.
@tdtaylor: Yeah, pretty much. It’s a cool concept with lots, and lots of violence.
@scottsigler: Sounds like fun, though I think I’d have a better chance to survive in a zombie-infested world…
World War V? Can’t wait!
