Who is Petra Prawatt?

The Prawatt Jihad strikes terror into the hearts of sentients all over the galaxy. This race of intelligent, self-replicating machines is shrouded in fear, mystery and mistrust, yet at the center of it all is the “living god” known as Petra Prawatt — a human girl. What is her story? How did she become the focal point of the galaxy’s most-populous — and most-warlike — race?

Find out in “Complex God,” a novelette in the anthology ROBOT UPRISINGS, due out April 8, 2014 (but them pre-order links be below, Jack). Edited by scifi anthology legend John Joseph Adams and ROBOPOCALYPSE author Daniel H. Wilson, this book brings together some serious world-destroying talent.

A collection of stories edited by Daniel H. Wilson and John Joseph Adams

Humans beware. As the robotic revolution continues to creep into our lives, it brings with it an impending sense of doom. What horrifying scenarios might unfold if our technology were to go awry? From self-aware robotic toys to intelligent machines violently malfunctioning, this anthology brings to life the half-formed questions and fears we all have about the increasing presence of robots in our lives. With contributions from a mix of bestselling, award-winning, and up-and-coming writers, and including a rare story by “the father of artificial intelligence,” Dr. John McCarthy, Robot Uprisings meticulously describes the exhilarating and terrifying near-future in which humans can only survive by being cleverer than the rebellious machines they have created.

Sorry for butting in but I’ve been looking for the same. The answer is that they are the first 3 episodes on the I tunes podcast. Episode 3 is what you’re looking for. Petra is the Assistant Director of go fuck yourself!! In fact, this episode ties quite a few of the book together. Genius!!

@Mark: I don’t think there is a “top billing” on this, it’s just the order of the stories, I believe. However, I didn’t get any billing on the cover of GAMES PEOPLE PLAY, the Charlaine Harris anthology I am in, so it’s just nice to see my name on the cover this time around. Editors always have to play a guessing game about which names are best for that particular book.

This is a different book than the JJA Kickstarter project that was funded on October 31st, correct? I made a pledge for that book so I don’t want to pay for the same book twice. Although, I’m sure it would be well worth it! 😉
