FridayFix • Super Bowl Commercials

imagesAs football season officially comes to and end, Scott and A sit down to talk about the last bits of Super Bowl goodness — the advertisements. Since we depend on advertisers to help keep the podcast going, we think quite a bit about content vs. advertising, and no one does that better than the Super Bowl.

We have different favorites, and different ones we hated. But just like everyone else, we can honestly say WTF PuppyMonkeyBaby.

FYI, Superbowl is not the most watched television program in the world – FIFA World Cup Soccer final is (aka ‘football’ final if you’re horribly English).

Superbowl pulls in well over 100 million viewers, but the World Cup chimes in at around 1 billion. In fact, I read that Superbowl comes in 4th place after Euro Final and EUFA Championship.

Then again, American football will still be around in 700 years. Who knows what the hell will become of soccer.

Daniel: Didn’t I say in the episode that the Men’s World Cup final is the most-watched sporting event in the world? Yes, I did. I think I also said that the semi-final matches are probably each bigger than the Super Bowl.
