Here it is! It’s been two years since we launched GFL Book IV, THE MVP, and finally the saga of Quentin Barnes and the Ionath Krakens continues.

Quentin Barnes and his Krakens just achieved ultimate glory on the gridiron. No sooner did they get down to the locker room after the massive post-game celebration than Messal the Efficient — Quyth Worker and manager of the Krakens — told Quentin there was a message from his sister, Jeanine. Jeanine was on Quentin’s yacht, the Hypatia, which was piloted by Frederico Esteban Guissepe Gonzaga, the private investigator Quentin hired to protect her. Under attack by an unknown assailant, Fred had no choice by to take the Hypatia into the Portath Cloud, the “Bermuda Triangle” of the galaxy, from which no ship returns.

The signed, numbered, limited-edition hardcover ships Sept 30, get your pre-order in now. These will be sold-out by Christmas, folks. YA sports scifi goodness for all.

We’re projecting October 30 for the audiobook release date on Audible, iTunes and Amazon.

And here’s me still waiting for a pre-ordered paperback version from Amazon…
Any idea when they’ll be released; as I had September in my head?

Can’t wait to listen to it. Glad it’s a longer book. I listened to The MVP two years ago when I was very sick, with a fever of 104 F. All I could do was lie on my couch, in feverish pain, enchanted by the story, for a week. What a memorable reading experience! Thanks for all the hours of pure entertainment.

  3. Geminimanaj

Cannot believe it’s been two YEARS! Kudos to you and “A” for such amazing work. Book V Pre-Ordered and extremely excited for this massive journey. Can’t wait to see what you and the crew have in store for us Junkies in the coming future.

Goodness, the moment I saw that the first episode was posted, I started squealing. I don’t usually like football, but I do when it comes to this series.
Every time I listen to any book in the MVP series, it gives me a chance to sort of get away from everything else and just focus on the story and whatever I’m doing at that moment.
The Champion will be my first hardcover book of the series and I absolutely cannot wait to get it in the mail. Thank you so much for doing what you do and keep up the great work! 🙂

  5. Jack Farfri

I just finished the MVP. Now I am faced with a problem, do I listen to this now, or do I go and listen to some of Scott’s other books, and wait for this to all be aired, then listen to it.
Answer, Listen to it /and/ listen to other books in between episodes.

@tripod: whatWhatWHAAAT? You’ve never suffered through the one-episode-per-week shakes like the rest of the hardcore Junkies on this site? Sir … I said, sir, I suggest you pay some dues and start listening now. Earn your DT stripes.

      1. veniteo

Hey Scott, while i enjoy your watered down stories with no mature language, is there a serious reason you’ve cut out the always enjoyable graphic cursing and insults? Can i expect a version that doesn’t make me feel 12?

I literally shouted, quite loudly, when y’all announced that The Champion was the next book. Like others, I was expecting Pandemic, which I already own. I can’t tell you how fired up I am for this. I know you don’t espouse a political ideology (which is a good thing in an entertainer extraordinaire), but being a libertarian myself, I love your universe, and hate the hidden chains of the empire.

  7. ClearSights

Just started listening to The Rookie, going to listen to every book back-to-back to get a refresher, hopefully the audiobook will be out by when I’m done with the MVP.

  8. mkaz

I was also expecting Pandemic, but, you, sir, are hoisting the big one by pushing the GFL to the front. Maybe the episodes can be longer a bit so we can get to Pandemic sooner.

Glad to have the Sig reading it again (although Phil G kicks ass).

Can’t wait for the next GFL book, The Owner (Quenton buys a team…)

  9. Robert

Super, super psyched. I didn’t get a chance to look at my podcast feed for a week, so I had the Q&A Nocturnal episodes backlogged. And then I looked again last night and saw The Champion! So I made sure to finsh those last Nocturnal epsisodes so I could dive right into the Champion. So looking forward to this book. I love the inter-species politics!

  10. Brandon Winrich

Well, this was unexpected. I too was expecting Pandemic to be the next thing to be podcast.

I can’t wait to listen to this…but unfortunately, I must wait, because I’ve been re-listening to some of the other GFL stories in order to get reacquainted with the universe (currently on Episode 27 of The All-Pro).

  11. Connie Taylor

I’m disappointed that I will have to wait till October 30 for the audiobook…i have been hanging out for sept 30…and for other reasons that I won’t bore you with… 🙁
