Book II of the Generations Trilogy

ALIGHT is the sequel to ALIVE. You’ll find no spoilers here, sir and/or ma’am. If you’ve read ALIVE, you know what is coming. If you haven’t, well, get the damn thing already.

In ALIVEScott Sigler introduced readers to an unforgettable young heroine and a mysterious new world reminiscent of those of THE HUNGER GAMES, DIVERGENT, and RED RISING. Now he expands his singular vision in the next thrilling novel of this powerful sci-fi adventure series.

“If it’s war they want, they messed with the wrong girl.”

Praise for Scott Sigler’s Alive:

  • “Suspenseful . . . [Alive] lives up to its hype, packing plenty of thrills. . . . A page-turner that whets the appetite for volume 2.”Entertainment Weekly
  • “Fascinating and intriguing . . . a cross between Lord of the Flies and The Maze Runner and yet . . . so much more.”—Fresh Fiction
  • “A ripping, claustrophobic thunderbolt of a novel.”—Pierce Brown, New York Times bestselling author of Red Rising
  • “Unstoppable and real, M. Savage is one hell of a heroine. Get ready to be left breathless.”—Kristin Cast, New York Times bestselling author of the House of Night series
  • “Sigler has created a wonderful and engrossing character in M. Savage. Strong and smart, but with the naïveté and misgivings of any teenage girl, she’s someone you’ll definitely want on your side when s**t hits the fan, which it most certainly does.”—Veronica Belmont, host of Sword & Laser
  • “The puzzle unfolds masterfully, right down to the last page.”—Phil Plait, PhD, author of Bad Astronomy

About The Author

  1. Stephanie Brown

    Hi Scott,

Someone sent me Alive last year and I absolutely loved it and want to read Alight, and the only reason I haven’t yet is I’m having trouble finding a copy with the cover I want. I’m one of those people who likes to have all books in a series matching on my shelves. For some reason neither Amazon nor Barnes & Noble have paperback copies available of Alight with the orange cover that matches the design of the aqua cover of Alive (the one shown here on your website). They only have copies of the cover with the ax on it. Any idea why that might be, or where I could possibly purchase a copy that has the orange cover?

Thank you sir. Your podcast books are so well done. My next book purchases will be all of this series. Now I’m not a sports fan but I like your writing so much I’m going to check out the gfl series as well. Again, thank you so much for the free podcasts.

I am not a fan of sci-fi novels but this is soooooooooooooooo Amazing. I first heard Alive on podiobooks and found my self craving for more ^_^. Then i heard the term “Junkie” pertaining to @scottsigler followers and fans. And after sometime of deliberation to myself yes i can admit that i am now a Junkie and i l<3ve it

    1. scottsigler

Maks: I think that’s because ALIVE isn’t a “scifi novel,” in my opinion, it’s a story about people that happens to have a scifi/fantasy backdrop. I thought I didn’t like fantasy novels until I read a few from author friends that were focused on relationship, interactions, and characters. Sure, there was the swordplay an the palace intrigue, but those were organically driven from characters trying to live their lives and just get by. I realized I had only read a few “high fantasy” novels with predictable characters and plots. “Grimdark” fantasy changed my opinion. So it’s not that you don’t like a particular genre, perhaps, it’s that the samples of that genre you’ve read don’t resonate with you. All kinds of stories are told by all kinds of authors across all kinds of genres.

I got my wife Karo hooked on the new generations series, she is now a true junkie. I just ordered her a signed copy of Alight, and pre-ordered alone from Mysterious galaxy. I am hoping I can still get a signed copy of alive.. Scott, thanks for all the free entertainment!

  6. Phil

I am a recent Junkie convert. I have been listening to Alight on my commute to and from work and I am hooked.

However I have an issue… I cant find episode #9 on iTunes! I have all of them up to the most current release (ep #16) but I am missing #9! Help! Any suggestions? I would hate to have to miss an episode.

    Hi Scott,
I love the way you write. How many episodes will be there for this audiobook (ALIGHT)????. I love this.
I want this entire series hehee…

Just turned my 11 yr old daughter into a junkie thanks to Alive and Alight. We have Alone pre-orderd and she’s chomping at the bit. Your influence grows, FDO.

  9. Darren Wall

Now I have “Alight” in my sticky paws! My partner will no doubt read through this in an evening but I’ll keep listening to the podcast. Keep up the great work guys and again thank you for your hard work and dedication to your junkies.

    Hi all,
I listen to all of Scott’s books as podcasts as I drive t work each day as sadly I have issues reading books. I bought her Alive and she loved it and now I want to buy Alight. The question I have is, I live in the UK and would love to get a signed copy for her. Is this possible? I clicked on the Autographed icon below the book cover but on that site it didn’t say it was autographed. So, can a person in the UK buy a signed copy and if so how?

Thanks for your help, and Scott, Keep writing and dying to hear Earthcore!

    1. scottsigler

Alan: Best bet is to contact Mysterious Galaxy books in San Diego, California (USA) and ask them for shipping rates. That “autographed copies” link leads to their site. Contact them and see what they have to say.

So I got my sister to read Alive and she absolutely loved it. I’m an adult junkie and love that my sister and I, whom are 16 years apart, can be into the same thing.

Now that the Alight release is approaching, do you know if you are going to be doing a book tour? I would love to finally meet you and my sister would be ecstatic to get Alight (and Alive) signed by you, in person. I’m just contemplating on whether or not I should pre-order signed copies at Mysterious Galaxy, or hope to see you on a book tour.

Regardless, I’m looking forward to Alight and I think you’ve potentially created another junkie!

    1. A Sigler

No book tour for ALIGHT (April 5th) or ALONE (October 26th). They are too close together with too much work to do in-between, so we decided that we would not tour this year, but would instead focus on getting out to more cons. Check out where Scott will be on our appearances page. And yes, the next best way to get a signed book is to order from Mysterious Galaxy!

  12. Emily

I loved your book so much! I love to read fiction books and I have read Harry Potter, Hunger Games, the Hobbit, etc. This book is most likely the best book I have ever read! I hope the sequel will be just as great. This is the first time I have waited for a sequel so impatiently. XD Thank you for righting a wonderful book!

  13. Jeff Overstreet

I can’t get enough of the siglerverse. I am listing to the GFL series again (3rd time) as I wait for Alight to be released. I have listened to everything you’ve released audably, multiple times. I don’t have time to read, due to work…but listing is a different story. Thank you for being you.

Over Christmas my 15 year old son was hospitalized in LA, about 2 hours from our home. My 12 year old son and I listened to the podcast version of Alive on the trips down to see him and his mother. As with many things, my younger son became obsessed with the story and we had to finish the last episode at home when his brother was released. I have since bought the hard copy and we are bringing it to Wondercon for you to sign! Will you be releasing Alight on the podcast?

Thank you for making a difficult time easier for us.
