I am a father of 2 (older daughter, 7y.o. son) and a Registered Nurse (RN). I currently work for the Oklahoma State Department of Health in the Protective Health Services division. This brings together two distinct areas of interest. One is helping people through the application of science based, results oriented health intervention and the other is an old fashion mystery. In other words, I am entrusted to assess a facility's compliance with nursing home regulations on the federal and state levels. Also, I perform complaint investigations on the same facilities. This allows me the opportunity to get to know residents of the facilities and learn about their community (yes, a nursing home is its own community, often with its own culture) and assist the residents in making changes to improve their community. Instead of having a team of patients and making positive changes to individuals one at a time, I am able to promote positive changes to communities as a whole. Add in the investigative talents all us Sigler fan's have tattooed to our umbilical cord at birth and you have CSI - NH. Yes, that is CSI - Nursing Homes!!! Could CSI stand for Changing Sigler's Interest (in) Nursing Homes? Take it from me, these guys really need entertainment and there is no better feeling than helping to improve the life of someone who is cherishing the few months or years they have left to embrace Siglerism.
Thanks for the talk.
P.S. I got to know your work through podiobooks and now own everything amazon had via Kindle and am looking forward to many more purchases. I tell all the activity directors at the different facilities about your work and podiobooks in the hopes they will help spread the good cheer. Thanks again for making my days brighter by knowing someone else's day was far worse than mine.
