Embarrassing? Hells no!

Why on Earth would you feel embarrassed?! Like someone else said below, it's the job of agents/publishers/bookstores to secure good sales figures. It's your job, as an author, to write good books...and you write fucking BRILLIANT books! You should feel PROUD, Scott. Proud, satisfied and loved. You know better than anyone that there are a whole shitload of writers out there, all wishing that their work had even one tenth of your following. Your INTERNATIONAL following. I know this NYT Bestseller thing is a blow to you, but please don't let it cause you to doubt yourself. YOU may see this as some sort of failure, but almost 8,000 registered Junkies, plus all the unregistered fans out there, would beg to differ. x
