Good points, everyone!

We can either try to study these creatures to find out what biochemical changes enable them to regenerate so we could use this to extend our own lives or we can hunt them down and kill every one of these jellyfish out of spite.  

I vote for spite.  Go ahead!  Regenerate in my stomach acid, you smug immortal bastards!
