I think Andre's art pencil
I think Andre's art pencil is by far the creepiest. You get the feel that the cow's fur skin just doesn't fit or belong there at all. The psycho attitude make it look like it wants to blame it on someone... The feel of the story reminds me of "The Thing" filmed in a frozen wasteland, which scared the shit out of me as a kid. Ancestor might make a great suspense/horror script. With a manageable set mostly in the wilderness; a primarily suspense genre; cramped spaces; middle of nowhere; with tasteful CG, sweeping scenic snow shots; adequate actors allowing meaningful charachter development and classy gore with many novel (read:painful) twists and you may have a winner on your hands. None of that gropy, dullard classic horror stuff. Giving the ancestors a degree of purposeful (evil?) sentience via facial expression; body language; peer interaction could lead to many creative and creepy art-shots. It's stretching things a bit far, but you can imagine:- a sweeping snowy pristine vista, where a herd of cows have escaped their pens. Seen from a distance, they're milling and mooing quietly in a field. Then a switch turns and the "cows" snatch a pair of approaching (real) cows that have drifted towards them. A lightning quick scuffle and then it's all-quiet again: the quietly mooing herd (Troop? Tribe? Swarm? Murder) moves slowly off towards some more cows, a conspicuous red patch trailing behind them. Maybe they're battling with their chimeric origins; maybe they're just taking tactical advantage of their looks... But creepy? You betcha. Anthony South Africa
