Hey, just downloaded Ancestor. It will be a bit before i catch up. Take your time, relax. Computers, of course, never saved anyone time. I'm happy if they do something i can't do any other way. For example, Audacity has a noise removal feature. Select a 'silent part', which just has the background noise, tell it to analyze it, then select the 'bigger' part you want fixed, and in a few seconds, it removes the noise. For me, it was the camcorder recording the tape transport motor. Now then, i could have done the signal analysis myself, cranked the FFTs on my abacus, at least in principal, but it isn't likely it would get finished in my lifetime.
