SciFi channel movies take a pretty formulaic approach to production (which isnt necessarily a bad thing) but I\'ve heard that they keep them to a fixed1 million per movie budget which does limit the special effects. I\'m thinking Ancestor\'s special effects costs alone would blow that budget.
