Ok, you all want motivation for the triangles? These triangles are obviously from the planet that has defeated the earthcore aliens and the subsequently wanted to completely wipe them out. They figured that building a portal on Earth would be far cheaper than flying half-ways across the galaxy to destroy a handful of the alien creatures. Humans just got in the way, is all.
