It's kind of mind-blowing to us, really, but we hear it enough that we've started to accept that these stories do what they were made to do -- take people out of their lives, their thoughts, their day-to-day troubles, and entertain them while their brain "reboots." Sometimes you just need to send your brain to another place in order to let things rest a bit, then you come back to it with a fresh head and it's a bit easier to handle what has to be handled.
