...were interned, but I don't know much about it.  Most of what I learned was through my parents because my high school history classes didn't mention internment at all.  I remember when my parents first told me about camp, my response was, "You're kiddding!"  I actually didn't believe them until they showed me some books. 

My family had 1 week to sell all their belongings (they were only allowed one suitcase a piece) and they were in camp for 3 years.  After they got out, people would refuse them service and spit on them in the street.  My parents and grandparents were all born in California. 

I so hope we did learn our lesson and never do this to any nationality ever again.
