Tor.com 2011 Reader's Choice Awards

Junkies, let’s see if we can make some noise at Tor.com’s 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards. You know we won’t get any traction on other awards, as the reaction of most sci-fi fans who haven’t read/listened to the series is “Oh, please, football? How pedestrian.”

So, bust ‘em in the mouth with a vote for THE ALL-PRO by clicking here, then placing a comment in on Tor’s blog post.
And, of course, spread the word. Get other Junkies to vote. Let’s see how our community fares in the broader sci-fi space.
The BLOOD IS RED stories would also be eligible, so vote for your favorites as “short fiction” selections.

@avinjer…..I for one was a little confused when it came to the vote for “blood is red”. We’re we supposed to vote for “blood is red” or a specific “blood is red” story, you know what I’m saying. And don’t forget there is still time to vote for The best Book Cover of 2011 which should be “The ALL-PRO” by New York Times Best Selling Novelist SCOTT “aka The FDØ” SIGLER. Go do that

I can’t believe more people aren’t voting for Blood is Red for short fiction. 10th place only has 4 votes and Blood is Red is not on the list. Go. Do it now. Get.

Done! I’ve voted it for the best cover too (even though I still do want to clean him with a babywipe)

  4. Gmork

I’m a wee bit late to this party, but my vote is now casted! There’s still lots of time to get involved as the voting doesn’t end until Jan 20th!

Here are the top novels as of 5 PM Thursday:

    1. The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss (41 votes) 2. The All-Pro by Scott Sigler (34 votes) 3. The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson (26 votes) 4. Embassytown by China Mieville (23 votes) 5. The Seventh Throne by Stephen Zimmer (20 votes) 6. Among Others by Jo Walton (15 votes) 7. A Dance With Dragons by George R. R. Martin (15 votes) 8. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline (14 votes) 9. Fuzzy Nation by John Scalzi (9 votes) 10. The Heroes by Joe Abercrombie (7 votes)

A challenger approaches! On Tuesday, dark horse Stephen Zimmer shot to the front on a campaign involving friends and fans, but Wednesday finds him unseated due to a similar approach by author Scott Sigler. (But will he make it to the endzone???)

The Best Book Cover votes break down as follows:

    1. The Seventh Throne by Stephen Zimmer, cover by Matthew Perry (12 votes) 2. Deathless by Catherynne M. Valente, cover by Beth White, design by Peter Lutjen (8 votes) 3. The All-Pro by Scott Sigler, cover designed by Donna Mugavero (6 votes) 4. Rift Walker by Clay & Susan Griffith, cover by Chris McGrath, design by Grace M. Conti-Zilsberger (4 votes) 5. Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey, cover by Daniel Dociu (3 votes) 6. Blood Divided by Kevin James Breaux, cover by Dan Dos Santos, design by Kevin James Breaux (3 votes) 7. My Life as a White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland, cover by Dan Dos Santos (3 votes)

  6. Stormy

At the time of writing this, there’s 30+ votes for The All-Pro (some as All Pro, some as All-Pro), and a few votes for the cover.

Given there’s less than 300 comments there, and that the majority of people are only voting for one novel, as per the rules…if the trend continues, I think we’ll make some noise. :D

Nice! Not sure about best book cover in that group, as there are some very scifi-ish covers, but I appreciate the vote!

  8. In_The_Out_Hole

Come on do those other authors even have a chance? what can you do against hordes of faithful junkies? Run….

  9. DEAD_SILVER_EAGLE_BAYL06

Just voted for the Best Novel, Best Book Cover, and Best Short Fiction. C’mon ALL-PRO C’mon Blood is Red you can DO IT!
