The second installment of the wild scifi/mma novella by Scott Sigler and Matt Wallace. This time around, Wallace's character takes center stage in the ring for some intense, brutal fighting. The wildest UFC fights of all time are nothing compared to the interspecies brutality that takes place in TITLE FIGHT, Round 2.

During a Stank Stop™ in San Diego, I recorded a live question and answer session with the big crowd at Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore. This is also where I recorded TITLE FIGHT: Round #1. No new fiction content, but lots of questions about NOCTURNAL, THE ROOKIE, the publishing industry and advice for aspiring authors, the INFECTED movie, what's next in the Siglerverse, and more.

[img_assist|nid=2767|title=|desc=|link=none|align=undefined|width=100|height=100]

Yes, the title of this episode of BLOODCAST is totally misleading. Well, it is sorta true. The world-famous Grammar Girl recently talked about cursing in books, when to remove the cursing and how to handle swear words in general. Her example? THE ROOKIE, and the changes from the potty-mouth version to the young adult version. This is the first time ever that Grammar Girl has been bleeped. If you're familiar with her work, it sounds hysterical. If you're not familiar with her, you're missing a very informative podcast. So no new fiction here, but it it's short and a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Book stores closing, chains folding, publishers making mass layoffs -- the publishing industry is in a downturn. That means fewer new authors get signed. The days of sitting in your ivory author tower are over. You have to prove that you can build that audience and earn a publishing deal.

This class covers podcasting and social media for authors, taught by authors that have used the skills to land deals with major publishers. We don't just pretend to be experts, we found success and will teach you the same skills.

Ugh. My cousin Francis Donovan Olivieri is out of the witness protection program, and guess who he contacts first? That's right, me. Seems Frankie wants his own podcast, so welcome to the first-ever episode of "Let's Get Pissed With the FDO." And just to piss me off a little extra, who does Frankie want to interview first? None other than my nemesis, J.C. Hutchins. The only saving grace to this sad excuse for entertainment is the presence of Mur Lafferty, who served as the "shot slut" for the interview.

WARNING: If you're easily offended, you do not want to listen to this. Frankie is a little bit ... opinionated. And Hutchinsss? A pervert. Enough said.

Junkie Mae's Chop Shop is the Scott Sigler fan-fiction podcast, hosted by Junkie Mae.

Click & Listen: NOCTURNAL: THRILL OF THE HUNT

The Chop Shop is back from a long hiatus, and kicks things off in style with NOCTURNAL: THRILL OF THE HUNT by Bradley Richardson. This fan-fiction podcast gives you junkie-created stories based in the Siglerverse. It's not "cannon," it's not "official story," mind you, but it is awesome. I thought Bradley's story was great. If you've been missing your Ninja, here's a fresh dose.

Visit the home page of Junkie Mae's Chop Shop! If you've got a hankering to write some Sigler fan fiction, and you want to hear it podcast in the dulcet tones of Junkie Mae, visit the site and give it a shot.

Click & Listen: NEWTON GETS PISSED ...

My cousin Francis Donovan Olivieri is really trying to horn in on my podcast. I mean, he ... uh ... has been a bit insistent on getting this interview into the feed. Friday Fix™ is where it's at for this one. If you are easily offended, if you have any sense of taste, style or decency, you do not want to listen to this one.

On the hot seat is Earl Newton of the Stranger Things high-def science fiction vidcast. If you're new to the Siglerverse, Stranger Things did the first-ever movie adaptation of a Scott Sigler story, when he made Sacred Cow.

The Shot Slut™ for this episode is George Hrab, singer, podcaster, and all-around awesome dude.

What do vampires, boogeymen, and gypsy witches have in common? Watch and learn about what's behind Messengers 2: The Scarecrow. The FDO™ and Earl Newton of the scifi/horror vidcast Stranger Things team up once again for new episodes of HorrorHouse and The Eyebrow of Doom™. We look at Ghost House Pictures, the studio that produced Boogeyman, 30 Days of Night, and Messengers 2; the suspenseful prequel to the box office hit, The Messengers. Messengers 2 is available July 21st, 2009 on DVD.

Some Friday Fix video for ya. Mark Jeffery, author of POCKET AND THE PENDANT, has a new show called Bibliotech where he interviews writers that operate online and in the social media space. Good interview. About 30 minutes long, and hardcore Junkies have heard the story before, but I'm banging away on the ANCESTOR deadline and this is all I got for your Friday Fix!

[img_assist|nid=2767|title=|desc=|link=none|align=undefined|width=100|height=100]

Junkies, here's the latest GoreLine call-ins from all y'all. Remember, if you want to leave a voicemail for your Future Dark Overlord™ and probably get your thoughts into the podcast, call 206-666-4673 (206-666-GORE). Just a quick 20-minute episode to give you your Friday Fix.

Now, I'm not shy about hearing myself talk, but I don't normally post interviews with me in the main feed. I feel like Junkies have heard my jibber-jab often enough.

However, this past May I was the Special Guest of Honor at Balticon, and on the last day I sat down with Paul Fischer, long time friend of the Siglerverse. He knows me and the stories well enough that he was able to get the conversation going in a few new and interesting places. We talk ANCESTOR, ROOKIE, sci-fi… even zombies.

It was great sitting down with Paul, and although it's a bit of a long one, I'm putting it up here in case you want to check it out.

For this week's Friday Fix™ I'm linking to Humanety.com's video of the live chat I did with FinalDrive a few months back.   It was killer to get to talk live with him, especially since in addition to his own questions, he collected questions from GirlCo, MethPigeon, "Mr. Rocktopi" and more!

This chat raised over $500 for the Disabled American Veterans, which is my chosen charity.  I don't pitch often, but when I do, wounded soldiers have my respect and support.

[img_assist|nid=3306|title=Dead Robots Society|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=192|height=200]

In advance of NaNoWriMo, we here at Dark verlord Media sat down and planned out all the juicy, tasty tidbits that will be dropping into the feed for the rest of the year.

On Fridays I'm going to try and drop in some Sigler-related but not Sigler-created things, starting with this interview I did earlier this week with the good folks over at Dead Robots Society.

These guys were really fun to talk with, and certainly knew their stuff. I only wish I had joined them sooner when P.G. Holyfield was still on the show. (Last time I talked with him I was not exactly myself.)

Check out the FDO™'s stop at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. Just under 10 minutes of Junkies, football and general making fun of stuff. Also, check out the whoop-ass intro and outro motion graphics, done by Aaron Proctor (check out his site by clicking here).

Music in this video is "Step Up (I'm On It)" by Maylene and the Sons of Disaster (I'm so frickin' in love with this band right now), and "Whatever it Takes" by POD.

Wabash WolfpackThe Wabash Wall, bitter arch-rivals of the Ionath Krakens, have changed their team name. Click on the link above to get the latest from Chick McGee as he reports on this breaking story.

Unidentified league sources can neither confirm nor deny that this man had anything to do with the name change.

Check out the new Wabash team logo at left. Oh, you'll be seeing more of them in THE STARTER. And that, Junkies comes from a very reliable source (as in, 27 straight years of weekly podcasting "reliable.").

Here Goes Nothing Sigler Special - Click and Listen

Back in September 2009, when we were on the ROOKIE Tailgate Tour, a audio request came in from the boys over at Here Goes Nothing.  It was short, funny, and, as they had indicated in the subject line of the email, 'groveling'.  They were thinking of doing a segment about Siglerism, and could Scott provide some promos, etc.  They said they were fans.  Once back at home, Scott whipped up the little bit of audio they'd requested & sent it off.

Turns out they're fans indeed.  This edition of the Here Goes Nothing podcast is all Sigler, all the time.

P.S. Next week's Friday Fix™ should be ROOKIE Hell Week video, mentioned in DØM Year in Review. Unless cousin Frankie hi-jacks the feed …

CRYPT Book One cover
For this week's Friday Fix, I'm sneaking in a bit early and going with the big news of the day, which is that THE CRYPT: Book 1, The Crew is now live over at Podiobooks.com.

We here at Dark Øverlord Media are big fans of Podiobooks.com as consumers AND as producers of content.  Evo works his tail off to make sure the books are easy to download, high-quality, and always available:  it's a great site and a great service. [Also?  Evo's a hell of a guy. That's just the way it is.]

Our very own Arioch Morningstar, Producer of Døøm, has done a kick-ass job cleaning up the jibber-jab and mastering the episodes.  You'd think with all the posting he does here that he wouldn't have time for such awesomeness, but you'd be wrong.

So get on over there and check it out!  If you're so inclined, leave a comment or two.

Click & Listen: The FDO™ on KATG

FDO™ at KatG™This week Dark Øverlord Media was in New York City for the O'Reilly Tools of Change Conference.  We learned a little bit about a lot of things.  And just when we should have been leaving to avoid the crazy snow … Keith and The Girl called, and invited Scott to join them in the studio.

It was a great show, and a lot of fun to watch in-studio. Keith and Chemda are lightning-fast with the funny, and Scott was very happy about the kegerator. Very happy. As you're about to hear before I run the actual episode, all three sat down with me for a few minutes to talk about KATG's new book, "What do we do Now?" coming out on March 9th, and the 75-hour marathon 'cast they'll be doing starting this Sunday at 6:00pm EST. Oh, and Scott talks about the kegerator.

STARTER ANNOUNCEMENT +
FDO™ INVADES SYDNEY! Click & Listen

Junkies, I asked the FDO™ to give me a little info about Oz and THE STARTER.  A bit of choice news about Quentin I could share. He couldn't resist getting behind the mic for y'all. Who knew he was a ham? (Okay, okay, we all did).

We are just three weeks away from April 1, when THE STARTER goes on pre-sale. Sigler Ascension Day™ is here, and with it the sequel to THE ROOKIE. Quentin is back, and he's bad-ass as ever.

Also, we added Sydney to the Australia tour. He will be there March 30. Listen in for details, or just click here to see the FDO™'s path of destruction through Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne.

P.S. I'm changing my screen name to match the one I use everywhere else. Still me, A. Laughing

With the FDO™ winging his way to Oz, it's pretty quiet around the DØM headquarters, also known as the Lair of Døøm™.  I'm working on the final details for THE STARTER launch next week, readjusting the volume on the stereo, and generally cleaning up the place (it's full of Twinkie wrappers!)

I found a little bit of audio that indicates Scott's already been to the future. I'd ask him if it's okay to share, but since he's still flying into tomorrow, I can't! And besides, who doesn't love a little Chick McGee to start the weekend?  Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

If you don't buy this book on April 1, you will develop boils and die a horrible death

Sports Center GFL Update - Click & Listen

Sigler Ascension Day 2010 was a great big success!  Despite a few glitches early on (nothing like huge amounts of Junkie traffic to bring down the webernets!) THE STARTER went live for pre-sale a little after 9:00am Pacific Time.  It was a great day for Dark Øverlord Media; many thanks for your support!   While I can't share first day totals yet, I can tell you that first day pre-order for THE STARTER outstripped first day pre-order for THE ROOKIE (which was in the 600's for the first 24 hours.)

And, oh, hey, what's this? We've got another Tier One Sports Center Update from Chick McGee to continue the Siglerificness.  Enjoy your FridayFix™ Junkies!

If you don't buy this book on April 1, you will develop boils and die a horrible death

Chrome numbers with dark blue trim decorated shoulder pads, chest and back. Even their belts and shoe clips were chrome. "
