I forgot to mention the part where you ordered a bunch of pay per view movies without asking, burned down our house and stole the Sears Christmas catalog out of our mailbox. (is that better?)

Just placed my order for the hardcover. Been reading these books with my son from the start. Now he’s a senior in high school, playing his final season of high school football. He’s hoping to make into college football, then maybe the GFL…. These books have been a great part of our football experience together, starting out as coach and player in youth football, to now being a proud dad watching his son on the gridiron. We’ve enjoyed talking about the books over the years and comparing them to his football life. Thanks Scott.

@IronMB: That is amazing to hear. Hard to believe the books have been out for long enough a kid to get through high school while listening/reading to them.

We’re proud to have been a positive part of your relationship with your son. GO KRAKENS!

I ordered the original Rookie hardcover in June of 2009. It was intended to be a birthday present for his 13th in July. He was going into the 7th grade. But, I didn’t read closely enough to see that the book didn’t actually come out until late August. So, you sent me some artwork from the book as a sneak peak. I’ll never forget that, it was such a nice thing to do. But don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone the FDO is a nice guy. 😉

First of all, Scott… You rule!!! I love your stories and have the podcasts of the GFL, Infected, Contagious series, and…and…basically all the books as podcasts. However, I had ordered ‘The Champion’ hardcopy (signed)! I am very happy, but can’t think straight till I have book in hand. Ok, so you ask… is there a question here? And yes, there is…

I don’t have a kindle. Funds are a bit low… Is there a free ebook reader that I can use for the ebook of ‘The Champion’?

Yes, I am a big fan and can’t wait!!

Thanks and continue to share your Awesome talents with us junkies!!

That’s a good question. If any other Junkies can chime in, cool. Try the Kindle Apps. If you have a Kindle account (for which you don’t need a Kindle) and can upload the ePub of THE CHAMPION to your account, maybe you can get it on an app for your computer or smart phone.

Wish I could help more! If you Google a solution and find one, do let us know.

There are a bunch of free ebook readers. Do you have a tablet or are you planning on reading on the computer? or even a phone?

Calibre Ebook Manager has a free ebook reader plug in. Its also good to get on your computer to manage your ebooks and/or convert them to other formats.

2.5 pounds does indeed sound girthy! At this rate, when book 7 comes out it will be so girthy the e-book will weigh 2.5 pounds!
That is awesome you give the e-book away with hardcover purchase!
By the way, does anyone else think He-Who-Walks-With-Stones (should have stuck with Roc, it was easier to type) sounds like Crazy Dave from Plants vs Zombies or is it just me?

@jamingus: Because in 2217, Bud Light wil be recognized for what it is: the most super-premium awesome beer that there ever was in the history of all history. The people who own the brand at that future time will jack up the price 100x. As we’ve seen over and over again with gullible humans, because it suddenly costs more it must be better beer, and the demand becomes overwhelming. The Bud Light owners then scale back production to achieve the magic formula of high-priced items: low supply, high demand.

With a Bud Light costing today’s equivalent of $1,926.31 US per bottle, it is hard to come by in the Purist Nation. Therefore, Nationalites gravitate to a more available product, namely, Miller Lite.
