Sprechen Sie EARTHCORE?

German EARTHCORE coverFun stuff here, Junkies. Looks like ze German print version of EARTHCORE will be out in June, 2008, and in hardcover! I'm fired up. No, I don't know German, but I'm still fired up.

German publisher Otherworld Verlag snatched up EARTHCORE in January 2007. There was a lot of interest for other languages, and for translations of ANCESTOR, but the Death Star known as "Crown Publishing" swept in and destroyed all foreign sorties before we could close any more deals. Crown wants to dish out the forieign rights for everything, starting with a big focus on INFECTED (yeah, German rights for that puppy are already a done deal).

Interesting decision to sort of change the cover, instead of using the magical graphics of Kevin Capizzi. This is the world of "normal" publishing, which is to say I have never spoken a word to Verlag. They've made all the decisions and seem to be rolling along.

On IMDB there is a movie in their collection that has the title Infected that is says that it is going to come out in 2009. But I don't know if it is the same movie. I can't find out anything more because you need to be an IMDB Pro.

"Verlag" means publishing house, or publisher. So it'd be better to say you haven't spoken to Otherworld. And JC has some very nice German phrases, but some sound silly, as well.
