Junkie,
Wow, what a couple of weeks! This will be a long newsletter, so I'll give you the important stuff up top and get to my usual long-winded blabbering at the end. Check out what's waiting for you at http://www.scottsigler.com.
PODCAST EPISODE: NOCTURNAL #23
Twenty-seven minutes of pure story goodness! Aggie James finally makes
it out of the lair of Marie's Children, but what is waiting for him on
the outside? Sean Robertson is back to his underhanded tricks -- does
he have Bryan Clauser's number? You can't keep Pookie Chang out of an
episode, and Chief Amy Zoe finds out she's got to deal with a huge mess
after the Russians tried to take out Frank Lanza.
PODCAST EPISODE: INFECTED Chapters 11-15:
Perry's body is changing, faster than he can keep track, and in ways
that he can't see. Margaret and Amos identify parasitic structures
growing deep in Martin Brewbaker's body -- structures that indicate
Perry's current symptoms are a portent to disaster.
HUTCHINSSS UNLEASHES NEW FAN-FICTION CONCEPT:
Now you may have stopped listening to my arch-nemesis because his series 7th SON is over (and you've been trying ever since to block out that voice ...), but he's back! He's opening up the 7th SON universe to a new fan-fiction concept. I'm ashamed to admit that this concept is damn good. Maybe the only good thing Hutchins has done in his rotten life, but if you've got a simple video camera and you like to act all scared and shit, this would be a good time.
Junkie BarbaraJ posted the information in the forums at scottsigler.com (which makes her a rotten fucking traitor):

DEADLY LITTLE BASTARDS:
My latest blog post at AMCTV. Will someone smack these damn psychotic devil-children that run rampant through the movies?

NY TIMES BESTSELLER LIST:
Well my friends, it seems the conspiracy of the big publishers is back in full force. We did NOT make the list, which is a pretty big disappointment. However, the NY Times "expanded" list ranks 35 hardcover books, and we OUTSOLD the last two on that list. We were WAY behind #33, but sold more than #34 and #35. Now the Times list is not based only on sales and no one, even my publisher, knows exactly what they track (regional sales count, bestseller lists from big cities like San Francisco and L.A. factor in, maybe reviews, we're not sure). But know this, Junkies, you did your job! You served Siglerism! We moved enough books to make the list. We should have made the list. I think we got fucked because we're too new -- the other two names at the end of the expanded list are very well-known and established authors. I'm some piss-ant upstart that's trying to kill the current publishing industry dead. We are not finished ... not by a long shot. The Times is watching us, and if sales stay strong through Week Two we might sneak on there.
BOOK TOUR:
Holy shit, that was more fun than a bag of freshly decapitated monkeys. We averaged about 50 people per store, sold 40 books per store. From what Crown tells me, those are out-of-the-park home run numbers, and for a first-time author, they are just phenomenal. Siglerism in full effect, y'all. This happened because the Junkies stepped up and represented, coming out to see their Future Dark Overlord™ in action. One insane fan flew from Minnesota to Houston for the event. Just sick! Many hands were shook, many books were signed, many beers were consumed. Everyone who came out, it was a true highlight of my life to meet y'all. I will be adding more cities to the 2008 tour to promote CONTAGIOUS, so hopefully I will see even more of you then.
