I know this doesn’t fit in Siglerfest 2015, but I was wondering if Scott was going to DragonCon and how can I make sure to see him.
FWIW, I also am still awaiting an actual Crypt story (not “character sketches”) to be listening to.
I like sci-fi a lot. And as I think back to what made Aliens (specifically the 2nd movie) so great, for me it was that concept of Marines In Space on a poorly conceived mission that goes terribly, terribly wrong.
(One of my favorite scenes being, “You always were an asshole, Gorman.” coupled with the way they both grabbed the grenade. Poignant Truth, Bonding as Soldiers and Gallows Humor all in a couple seconds.)
So even though all signs point to Crypt happening round about half-past-never, I am still wishful-thinking optimistic that Scott will get ’round to starting it any year now.
Right after he re-writes Earthcore… just a bit more.
All the best, General Siglerisimo.
Furry cows moo and decompress.
We will probably be getting in sometime in the afternoon.
we’ll be going to a movie around that time, in the hotel. No idea what’s playing yet, but we always pick the zaniest option that starts between 10pm and 11pm. When you arrive, check either Brendan’s Irish Pub for Junkies, or Scott’s tweet stream (or mine) to find out what movie we ended up at!
Booked flight and hotel! What time is anything going down Thursday night? I won’t be getting to the hotel until 10pm-10:30pm but I will try and find you all!
I agree it is good to not be a spoilery spoilerson. I am just so intrigued with the thought process in a re-write. I would have not thought the first Nocturnal needed the rewrite, but then it got one and it is awesome!
I think, mostly because it’s not yet completely re-written, and also because it’s spoilery, all I can say I’ve already said. But, on the bright side, you’ll almost assuredly find out for yourself this very year.
Oh, I guess I can say that the Siglerverse is very much our universe with a few sinister tweaks, so unless you’ve seen Bulls out and about on your day-to-day errands, we can assume that there are none here either.
But that last part is just a guess on my part. I actually don’t know myself.
Btw, I’m wondering where Earthcore is going to be headquartered now. They used to be in Detroit’s Ren Cen; but, alas, not much business has been conducted there since Contagious. In fact, the only business going on there now, I think, is being conducted by little Prawatt critters.
Yeah, I don’t think they’ll be able to fix this. Doesn’t help that Froess’s league doctors know the extent of Q’s injuries….
I have this feeling that if there are any other QB books after this it’s going to deal more with the Abernessia than football…
Though the Coach does have a nice ring to it….
And don’t forget, the Kool suit is the body undergarment in the GFL! Stoopid Angus Kool and his multimillion dollar inventions that last for over 700 years…
I don’t have accounts on any of the bucket sites for photos, so I’m just putting it on my own hosted web space. All those stooped fine print details scare me – I don’t want to forego ownership of my own photos just by uploading it to cloud storage.
I’m still working on mine. Stoopid tech support. :S
What do you need tech support for? All you have to do is take a digital picture somehow (eg phone, camera, tablet, etc), upload that to Photobucket, and use the IMG button here to link to it. Easy peasy.
Nope, DESCENDANT is not written. Starting to wonder if it ever will be. If I do write it, it takes place immediately after ANCESTOR, so it will be free of any PANDEMIC-related issues.
Arioch is saddened by this news. ANCESTOR is far & away my favorite story arc. Every Junkie has theirs, and I *think* for most folks, it’s EARTHCORE. Go ahead and sue me, but I adore Holstein cattle; the idea of them turning the tables (ie who eats who) on humanity is irresistible to me. It was this Podiobook that hooked me into the Siglerverse in 2006 and it’s been a magnificent journey since then. I was stoked when ANCESTOR won the election to be the third book Scott wrote for Crown. I even did a micro portion of the ANCESTOR tour with @phantomreverie. I repeatedly flummoxed Scott when I arrived at the front of the line with the book I was having him sign at each tour stop. That will remain an invaluable memory until the day I die.
So, while I’m disappointed to hear that DESCENDANT may never see print, I understand that choices have to be made. For all I know, ANCESTOR may have sold significantly worse than the other four Crown novels. It would make zero sense to pen the 2nd book of a duology if the first part sold poorly. Also, as @scottsigler and @ARealGirl have stated repeatedly over the years, there’s absolutely no way that Scott will be able to author all of the stories in his head now, much less anything that occurs from now on. So it’s a simple matter of business triage combined with author preference. Scott & A have to look at the numbers & Scott has to decide which story in his head is screaming “Write ME!!!” the loudest, and then go from there.
