He’s human alright, but he’s a dwarf/little person, whatever you want to refer to him as. His teeth are still a mystery to me too.
I’m sure this was covered in one of the earlier books. I don’t have any of the e-books to search, though. His voice and name suggest human but his sometimes reference to how tiny he is make me wonder if he’s supposed to be one of the smaller species. And I don’t know what to make of the red teeth? Why does he have those again?
So…the starting Fullback/back-up QB gets it over the starting QB/back-up Fullback…Cause I’m guessing to confuse the Jupiter Jacks the Starting QB for the Galaxy Bowl is Listed in the program as Barnes and the starting Fullback is listed as Becca…I’m just saying…@ScottSigler
@Combat_Cook: If only the world of pro sports worked that way. A fullback will never, ever, ever win a Galaxy/Super Bowl MVP. Not gonna happen.
The Rocktopi are from the lost ship of the Portath…just very inbred.
I don’t quite remember exactly (I don’t have the books, just listen to the podcast), but I’m pretty sure either Greedok or Don Pine presents the MVP trophy to Quentin at the end of the MVP.
I’m pretty sure that the Portath = Rocktopi. The Rocktopi just happen to be super inbred and dumbed down by the time we see them in Earthcore.
The Rocktopi ended up on Earth because they were fleeing from the bug aliens. Who I think we’ve seen bits and pieces of the bug aliens in a couple episodes of The Crypt.
Of course, all of this is with the caveats that it’s been at least 1-2 years since I’ve listened to Earthcore and The Crypt, and I have not read The Champion yet, only just heard the most recent episodes.
OK…it was never officially said in The Champion who earned the Galaxy Bowl MVP award…it was hinted as to who they thought would win it but not confirmed…
I vote Barnes…and the reasons:
1. He was the starting QB…he took the first snap and got the first touchdown of the game
2. He made an incredible pair of blocks to open the game field for the game winning score
3. He made the final sack and caused the fumble that locked the win for the Krakens
In a game where one play could have been the difference between winning and losing he made three of them
They never saw the awards ceremony while in the rejuv chamber…I could see the next book “The Coach”, (My Guess for the title) starting with Becca congratulating him with the MVP trophy when he wakes up from surgery and telling him she wants one of her own…
If not animated a motion comic would also be a nice representation of this Story line.
It would make sense especially since in Earthcore it’s determined that the Wasp-like aliens destroyed the home world of the Rocktopi, so what better place to hide from those carnivorous bastards and be extremely aggressive to anyone entering their “safe” zone of the Portath Cloud.
I’ve been trying to find the original podcasts as well but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
