@J.P. Hmm… I think that Nocturnal one gave me an idea, thanks! I’ve been tempted to try Earthcore, but I’d have to go re-listen a gain a few times.
@Belladonna420 – Thanks! <3
Figure this is a good thread for this.
In about two months it’ll be the one year anniversary of the death of one of my friends. He always had a lot of mental problems. He’d just made the switch to chemistry as a major and was doing a lot better, feeling a lot happier. But he was still trying out various drugs, out of curiosity or to help forget his problems I’m not sure, and was sold a bad cut of something I forget the name of. His roommate, after not seeing him all day, went to check on him. Saw him lying prone on his bathroom floor through the window. Roommate kicked down the door, but he’d already been dead for while.
We weren’t close friends (he was close friends with my recent ex-, though, so I was around him quite a bit), but I really felt for the trials he had made it through. There are a few things I always remember when I think of him. One is all the times things seemed really rough on him, all the times I saw and never really tried to help because I wasn’t sure what to do. Another is that he was a junkie. The only junkie I’ve randomly met. He had to rely on the podcasts for content since he couldn’t afford to buy the books. I always think how I should have just loaned him the most recent books, but never did for various reasons I regret.
Anyway. Since I wasn’t close and I was embarrassed to do so in front of my ex-, I didn’t speak at his memorial service. However, I’ve been thinking recently that I’d like to honor his memory by writing him into some Sigler fanfiction.
However, I just haven’t been feeling up to writing lately. It’s really hard for me to write certain fandoms when the author has provided really I want to know and hasn’t left big plotholes for me to explore. I feel more like an invader than an explorer. Sigler is one of these fandoms. So I was wondering if any kind junkies might just provide me with a prompt or two? My friend told me his favorite story once, but I can’t quite remember what it was. It might have been Infected or it might have been Nocturnal. Since I don’t really remember, I’m open to setting, so feel free to go wild with prompts.
I’m not actually a big pet person (I barely take care of myself sometimes, much less a pet, lol), but my friend gave me a tarantula molt skin once. =o
Tarantula’s are one of the cool things we have here. They are neat! They had some animal showing at the zoo once where they had various animals out of their cages. I remember being disappointed at the lady who wouldn’t let me pet the tarantula they had! =p
I’ve always thought a snake or iguana or something might be a fun pet, but they’re lots of work, and I just don’t think I’d be able to properly take care of them.
Haha, thanks. Will definitely wait until after the first season, at least. Too busy to read too much anyway, with graduation coming up.
How good is the book? Worth the read?
Shadygirl, I was wondering the same thing, lol.
I’ve been using the dishanywhere site. We finally got a hopper so I could mooch of my family’s dish since my roommates and I never got cable or anything. Don’t have amazon prime, so I’ll just have to wait for the eps to re-air.
*flails* Man, those are awesome.
I never got around to getting my own Infected comic. >.>
Ahh! So far the new site lags my computer much, much less. Sooo grateful for that. ;~; Had a hard time running other versions of the forum because it just dragged my computer down too much. I’m sure my 50 tabs didn’t help, but this site used to be particularly bad for me. So much clearer now.
I’m so very late, but I just had to throw in my own congrats!
I was wondering this myself. Posting to get notifications of replies. ^^
I lost it at “Dear Books”. That’s precious.
Well said! I love a family that sticks together.
Thanks for all your hard work, A and Scott. <3
I agree; the name calling and rudeness is going a bit far.
Ghosts of Mars.
It was awful. And not funny awful. Just why does this exist awful. >_e
These books wouldn’t be the same without the diversity of the characters that they show.
I love writing characters whom I disagree with and showing them in good and bad lights. That’s the beauty of humans. We’re all different shades of rainbow and that’s so fun to explore.
If someone feels alienated reading about characters they don’t agree with, then Scott’s books probably aren’t for them because you can bet that somewhere is going to be at least one character you disagree with or even don’t like.
But there are plenty of us who can appreciate that and don’t feel alienated in the slightest. <3
