Server Maintenance - Preparing for the INFECTED Launch

Hey Junkies!

I'll be hardening the server this weekend. We excpect a high amount of traffic when Infected hits Amazon. For that reason I'll be upgrading memory and harddisk space on the server in the hope to survive the unevictable slashdot effect without any permanent damage.

So please be patient if this site goes up and down this weekend several times.

I feel like an original junkie because I've been listening to Sigler since early '06 but many have only just started listening and happen to sign up right before the dead line, they're not really Original Junkies but they get to claim they are. Know what I mean, I just was hoping for some sort of insentive for the new junkies to have, so they would hit the forums more than they might if there were no insentive.

This sounds like a great plan to me, although it is not that easy implemented as the OJ hack. I'll discuss it with Scott, perhaps I could add this to my todo list when he agrees with a proper priority. (...) I don't think we should use the OJ symbol though, maybe a Star or something?

everyone signing up now could just get a J for Junkie, and there could be milestone incentives.
given after each year of being signed up officially.. a different color icon indicating length of time...as a Junkie Or Origianl Junkie. and maybe more funstuff to do with the crack hits recieved when posting. trading for merchandise like 7190 points gets you an official Sigler Pink Boa.
