It would make a great entertainment and it could stand up to all the soaps out there

 does put a lot of money into there series and a very small amount into there movies.but a rookie movie should be done somewhere like lucasarts first then a series should follow on sci fi or hbo once it gets a broader fanbase and they know what kind of effects they cannot skimp on later.

only a TV series would do something like The Rookie justice. I think maybe a movie would be to short to explore all the depth put in to the races, and too short to show a decent amount of american football action.

You never know, HBO and a few British shows still show Band of Brothers which is violent (tho given at least a tenth of the gore potential that the rookie has :P)

With the type of poorly written shows on SCI FI and the slasher Saturday that is always run. 

This is the perfect channel. The FDO has written stuff light years beyond what is produced by

this channel now. they should be crawling on hands and knees to produce this story on their channel.
