I don't know about you guys but I think this would make a great TV series.
It could replace Friday Night Lights!
Given the amount of blood in that story, there's no way any mainstream network would carry a show like that. But yeah, it would be cool to see a Ki Lineman rip some poor bastard in half in HD :P

Hello - SCIFI Channel - how bout you pull Stargate Atlantis and put on something a lot more fun - with LOTS And LOTS of Violence?
Think it works - how about we start a grass roots campaign to get Sci-Fi to do it---- opps:

SciFi already had their turn... they turned down the work because they "don't want to have to explain their monsters". They seem to be more content with monsters you don't have to explain like... Anaconda... or Mosquito Man...

Cartoon Network, specifically Adult Swim, should definitely adopt the Rookie, it could be drawn in that nice 70/80s (?) style like Metalocalypse, Korgoth of Barbaria, Thundercats, He-Man, etc... That would be rocking. To the max.

Unfortunately, I think Junkies would either send bags of blood, boxes of chicken scissors, perhaps rocky mountain oysters, or maybe Harlequin Romance novels?

I think it would be hard to make a good quality show with out some major backing. Definitely not for Sci-Fi channel!

SFC could work, but they sure are hit-miss when it comes to the shows they produce. Battlestar Galactica is top notch, but most of the made for TV movies they've done are pretty low-budget. If they'd sign up to do it right, I think SFC would be one of the best channels for the project. Or if we want the details and graphic nature of the story preserved--HBO miniseries! Yeah.
