This a little closer to the mark?

I was thinking the tail may be able to be more "tadpole" like but when you stand it up it looks better like this IMO. Also the spikes may be a bit big? but I figured they would lay doen when they swim and give the symbiotes something to grab onto?

and something a little more fun
