WaWa valley/mountain, Milford, Earthcore, The Immortals, Tracy Hickman

I have just started listening to Earthcore and I just finished listening to Tracy Hickman's "The Immortals".  So what is the correlation between the Dark Overlord and Tracy Hickman.  The area that both stories take place is the same and I was wondering which came first and is it a tip of the hat to either author that it takes place in the same area?  I'm new at this so bust my chops, I can take it!

But no, that Tracy Hickman is story is older than 2011. I don't know, but I'd guess it's about 8 or 9 years old. I don't have any idea if the two are related.

The book The Immortals is a story about internment camps in America. I listened to it at least 5 years ago. It's a fantastic story, I'd highly recommend it

"Is a science fiction novel originally published in hardcover by Roc. The novel describes a future America in which a virus similar to AIDS has panicked the U.S. government into setting up concentration camps to contain the sufferers." "It was published in 1996, the AIDS-like disease serves as a backdrop and a plot device to examine human relationships in circumstances of extreme duress" I had to look this subject up on the world wide web. It does sound interesting, I might give this one a listen

Though coincidental, to be sure, is the use of fuel-air bombs, which I believe are mentioned in Ancestor and Contagious.

It's all fun and games until the nukes start falling and the zombies start calling...

I didn't know they were making a film called The Immortals.  I just listened to Tracy Hickman's podiobook by the same name.  Several of the geographical references are the same between the two stories and I was just wondering if there was a corellation.

I just finished the story and it was truly eye opening.  How amazing are the parallels to the Japanese internment camps of the '40s and the political climate of today.

I love the concept of using the air as a fuel.  I first ran into that idea when I was playing combat flight sims in the 90's.  What a great and hellish invention!

It really hit home.  Most people I know are not homo-phobes and would never stand for that kind of treatment but I have met a few people that would not have a problem with it.  I guess when everyone is panicked it's easy to grab the low hanging fruit and start blaming the easy targets.

probably 4-5 yrs ago.  It was a good story and  a little different from what Tracy usually writes.  As I understand it.  Tracy wrote it many years ago but waited to publish the story because he didn't feel the time was right.  I have it in my ipod to relisten to the story and I also bought a copy of the book.  It's funny that I had just put it in my  ipod a few days ago and then saw this thread.
