Kissyman

Hey Scott, I finally got off my ass and decided to go on over to the website. I listen to all your books and even own Contagious and Infected. The audiobooks though get me through the day so I don't go nuts at work and pull a Perry Dawsey. Aside from that I've been following Kissyman and the Gentleman lately, I love it, strange anti-hero but it works. How did you come up with this?

Since I'm not Scott. And I'm not sure about the Kissyman himself, but I do remember him saying the story was inspired after he read "Devil in a Blue Dress" by Walter Mosely (sp?).

"Urban legends go well with parmesan and horror. In fact their name is conveniently one and the same: Stevie." {UNdead GirlCo Knight for Sigler}

"Clever girl." ~Jurassic Park {GirlCo w/ dreads for Sigler}

It's Perry "Dawsey".

Hi Scott,

I love your stuff, I think it's up there with Grisham and Crichton. (I hope that's not a bad thing)

Anyway, I'm originally from the UK and now in Australia (Hope to see you in April) and I've seen how the American networks have remade some classic UK shows but PC'd (and destroyed) them for American broadcast.

As you need to work with American promoters and producers do you ever have an idea/character that you put on the back burner because it could offend the wrong people?

One shot wonder, I don't see Scott adjusting the way he writes based on the opinions of promoters. It may be true that the characters in filmadaptations are slightly different from their podcast/book templates but that is just due to the restrictions of medium. Movies are held much more in check than the written word in order to make a profit. But it is the podcast and written versions of the stories which are what remains true to an author's original vision and I don't see our FDO compromising there.

This is proof that the F.D.O. is all knowing...or at least has a crack research team. The vibe is soo there. Little things like the ethnic sterotypes, the the slurs used by characters, and the Irish/negro tension. It's almost visualizing in my head in black and white.

As a matter of fact, that is a roll of quarters in my pocket.

Got the chance to see "the" Kissyman at the book signing.  Yes, he did   seem  to be a gentelman.
