i think you'd be surprised with the ease of playing 360 games.  there is a whole marketplace for 'casual' games, many of which are commonly found on the internet or on retro consoles.  all these games are desgined with the pick up and play mentality.  there's also family type games based on hasbro classics and games like scene-it available on disc.  many people also don't realize it can also stream netflix, connect to facebook and twitter, stream audio and video files from your local network, etc.  pretty fun console.

anyways...obviously (if you haven't guessed it) i'm a 360 guy, but i've also got a wii (although rarely use beyond mario kart) and i like dabbling in pc games.  mostly the casual type stuff (i.e. pop cap, big fish, etc.).  anything more intense i usually commit to on the 360. 

The kids have a 360 and go balls out. I think thats why they get a kick out of the wii. It offers them some softer play and probably easier function. They just got me Mariokart for x-mas. I am learning that one, if I can stay on the track!

When will Scott sell the rights to make a GFL game or a Nocturnal BeatEmUp or an Earthcore, ShootEmUp or a Contagious prob solving shooter/adventure.  

Make sure when you do, that you get them made on PC formats aswell please

I’ve looked into it in the past, but simply don’t have the technical knowledge to hack ROMs for old console games to do my bidding.

If someone knew what they were doing in regards to making sprites and editing the code, it would be interesting  to take something like an SNES or Genesis football game (Tecmo or Madden, either/or) hacked into a GFL game, allowing people to play it through an emulator on their PC. 
The same steps could be used to create other games, depending on the format one wants to play (beat 'em up, side scroller, RPG, etc) and what game engine would work best for.

Maybe this is something I should give another go on…

I mostly play on the Wii and PS2.  My bro has a 360, but I don't think I've ever actually played it.

ROM: Read Only Memory
In this case, the rom I’m referring to is a copy of a console video games that someone has converted from cartridge form to digital form so that you can store it on your computer.
Emulator: ummm…emulator
This is a program that emulates the hardware for a console, allowing you to run the rom and play console video games on your PC. 

That’s the gist of it.  The rest was just talking about what would need to be done to an existing game to Siglerize it.

hehe...i've got a host of the NES roms on my phone.  very useful thing to have  :-)

no coding ability whatsoever though unfortunately...but techno bowl sure would make sure a great GFL

I've gotten to play games that I never had heard of, let alone would have ever gotten a chance to play because of them.

My PSP has custom firmware that allows me to use homebrew software, so I've got it loaded up with old school handheld games. 
With it's ability to play a bevy of games, movies, as well as a comic book and PDF viewer, it's the only piece fo carry on I take whenever I have to fly.
