Los Angeles police respondied to calls early today about a traffic accident victim "found that the victim on the street had died from an arrow in his chest", Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Maribel Rizo said.
The victim was identified as Angel Martinez, whom some locals said they had often seen in the neighbourhood.
