Sorry to be a squeaky wheel, but there's still a prominent bio error cropping up. A chromosome spread is a "karyotype", not a "karotype." Karyotype is from the Greek karyon, referring to the nucleus. A karo-type would be, I suspect, an assay of corn syrup.

Personally, I'd chalked it up to a pronunciation difference and really didn't think much more of it, but then I'm not writing a dissertation (or book) on the subject of genetics.
