Nocturnal - Podcast Listeners - tell us your Favorites

Ηi Junkiez I have changed the Format of this Forum....since my last suggestion was slammed by the Forum Visitors---------Miserable Buggers....Anyhow here we go with a new Idea!!!.... As we are all waiting axiously for another episode of Nocturnal...And obviously Scott will take some time to get to it....why don't we have like a "Listeners Edition" of what's "HOT" & what's "NOT" in the PODCAST world??.... Here we can discuss what other Authors we are reading/Listening to at the moment...and as below with PG Holyfield and others we can get comments and feedback from them about our Comments...on them,.....if you see what I mean. Anyhow....we have had some great suggestions so far and comments....but we could make this a really informative and regular forum....And Perhaps the Dark Overlord™ ...could post a few comments himself....FOR GODS SAKE SIGLER IT IS YOUR DOMAIN AFTER ALL!!! Anyhow....Please read below....I have found some Great Podcasts that were suggested from here.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(PS) No idea what crack Hits are ...but if you want to give me some i'd appreciate it...but God only knows why??.......

Yell

Question??

WHY DO WOMEN GET MORE CRACK HITS THAN MEN...??? YOU BITCH LOVING BASTARDS!!....I'VE ONLY GOT 60HITS  IN 8 SHITTING WEEKS AND SOME FEMME FATALE BITCH HAS GOT 650 IN 11 WEEKS.................BASTARDS,.........I HATE YOU.........please give me a crack hit...bitch lover. Wink~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi PG thanks for the response....Its great that such a busy man take time out to respond to a forum...much respect to you Mr Holyfield, much respect. Must say I am really enjoying your Podcast.Murder On Avedon Hill..its superb superbly thought out and planned and very well written....and narrated, no wonder it was at the top of the downloads....you sure put a lot of effort into this. I've read that you intend this to be 45 chapters... is that true?....I am now at 13.2# and not sure how another 32# could possibly be played out....anyhow....thats for you to know and me to wait and find out. Thanks again for the response....and i'm sure I speak from all your fans and listeners this side of the Ocean.....keep up the excellent work.....your english teacher Mrs Debbie Scott will no doubt be very pleased and honoured for this to be dedicated to her. Regards Stuart

Hell, I'm not Sigler (in sooooooooooo many ways). I can still easily follow the links that Google Alerts sends me (that lets me know where MaAH is being discussed). Besides, as a Junkie for 22 months now, I lurk these boards way too often. Considering the last two chapters had to be split into two episodes each, I might make it all the way to 50 eps. Be patient... this is going to be a long year for me. I haven't figured out the secret to getting my production time under 10 days. I've got friends searching for Ms. Scott's address so I can send her a CD. She probably doesn't know about it yet. Thanks again for the kind sentiments, Stuart. Enjoy! Do you have a full on brummie accent? Mine has been sabotaged by the private school system (thank the lord for scholarships) so it's been ages since I've heard one. I hate how when I tell people I'm from brum they say Burrmingum, in a full on Dudley accent, and I'm like No! That's Dudley. And them they say Dudley in a brummie accent. Annoys the hell out of me. *~* My thoughts this week: Waiting is an essential part of junkie life. John Barrowman has amazing teeth and he hugs well good. I love him so much. What a waste.

One among the sleepless is great. The Corridor is pretty good too... Hall of mirrors - available from podiobooks is a good collection - mike bennet also. How to disappear completely is good - podiobooks. there's quite a few. Shadowmagic is a classic as well. This missive brought to you by SynapticJam - hhhmmm... tastes like chicken

glad you asked. I think once every week is best. Rare occurances of 2 weeks can be alright as well. I'm torn on the being 100% done thing. it allows you to tweak the story and maybe fix some minor glitches, but it all depends on your style. If you're a machine like Mercedes Lackey, you can pump out content by the reams and it'a alright. If you take more time, you might want to consider getting more of it done prior to publishing and then just use the additional info as editing fodder. Thanks for asking. I always enjoy interacting with authors.b This missive brought to you by SynapticJam - hhhmmm... tastes like chicken

Hi Freakazoid101... Well I'm now 42 so its kinda settled down a bit..However that said, I unfortunately did not have the benefit of a private school, I went to Bristnall Hall Secondary School, which is kind of between Oldbury and Smethwick....so its kind of Black country and Brummie combined...but listen...I'm nothing but proud of where I come from...so I am what I am....obviously still fairly literate though... or else we would not be enjoying the benefit of these books or Podcasts!! You are right though with how we are portrayed....but if people have any idea of what part Birmingham or "Brummigham" played in the industrial revolution ...they might think again before taking the Mickey. Freakazoid101 - where were you bought up?? By the way here's some words to get you all going....see if you can say them in a true Brummie accent?? A bag of suck - Four ounces of sweeties Aar kid - Our Kid Ackers - Money Acucks Groin - Acocks Green Addick - Haddock (fish) Adu - How are you? Affpast - Half past Ahr - Yes Ahr wow I won't Air - The wife Ales Owin - Halesowen Anyroadup - anyhow, anyway Ar bay - I am not Ar bin - I am Ar'l goo tClent - Expression of surprise Arf soaked - Stupid Arffa - Half Ark - Listen Arse Cream - Frozen confectionery (as in Ice creame) Aynit - Is it not ? Azzo - as though Bab "used as a term for an adult woman as in "Oroit Bab?" Babbee - Small child..the youngest Barmy - Insane Baygoona - Not going to. etc...etc....... Regards Stuart

When I'm not listening to Sigler *le gasp!*, I usually listen to Murder at Avedon Hill, Playing for Keeps, Buffy Between the Lines, and the occasional Metamor City (has yet to be updated this month. Out of all those though, Murder at Avedon is my top favourite (non-Sigler) podcast. "We may have days, we may have hours. But sooner or later, we all push up flowers..." -Grim Fandango

Re: Nocturnal - Podcast Listeners - tell us your Favorites

I was turned on to Sigler almost three years ago while searching for something other than music to put on my mp3 player. I'd discovered EscapePod (www.escapepod.org) after listening to an NPR program and from there managed to find Sigler.

Since then, I continue to listen to EscapePod and also listen to:

  • PseudoPod (www.pseudopod.org) as well as
  • The Drabblecast http://web.mac.com/normsherman/iWeb/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html)
  • the Seanachai (www.theseanachai.com)
  • Variant Frequencies (www.variantfrequencies.com)
  • Hooting Yard (podcasts.resonancefm.com)
and a few non-fiction sites I won't bother to mention. I've also been following along with Playing for Keeps, but I have to say I'm not very impressed. Don't get me wrong, I love Mur, but I find PFK painful.

I listen to all of those myself. MaAH is my favorite too! ;-) Metamor City is very good. I'm playing a small part in Chris's novel. You guys keep it up! i just started listening to podcasts about 6 months ago after reading ancestor. i must admit i'm quite the techtard but i'm getting more comfortable pecking the keyboard each day. anyway i'm a total junkie now and am spreading the word to my fellow techtard friends....see, it only took me 10 minutes to type this!

Re: Nocturnal - Podcast Listeners - tell us your Favorites
Of course Sigler is the master....and non are quite like his PodCasts....he is a Phsyco Mad Bastard alright...reminds me a bit of Mrs Smith after too many Cocktails..but thats my cross to bear.....ooooppps she almost saw me type that in...and she's on the cocktails right now......!!!. 2mins later... Ok She's moved on to the Bar and is on her 4th Screwdriver so now I can continue....quietly... Murder on Avedon Hill is also superb, you'll see below PG Holyfield has put some comments on regarding his PoDcasts....this is a Brilliant Fantasy Storyline .....with some gory bits & Vampires chucked in for good measure....the sound track is Brilliant and well thought out and also really good sound effects...and different voices for Characters.....its a great listen all round. Also, As suggested here - A English PoDcast One Among the Sleepless - by Mike Bennett. Its a very English Modern day story but with a twist...a tramp called Dusty Johnson....is a very dark character.....with Evil in his Blood. I'm only on Chapter 11 but its getting very very interesting indeed..... Ok gotta go ......she just went past on a skateboard...with her seattop over her head........See you later...
