Why are sound effects just now making their big appearance in your podcasts? Is it because of technical issues, or is there some kinda podcast-novel-faux pas?

I always had respect for your voice, I know it's not easy, but the Nocturnal audio is phenomenal! Do you attribute this mostly to your growing acumen within the technical aspects of audio recording, because of better equipment, or production help? I'm sure all have had an effect.
