That is not actually where my user name comes from. I am often accused of having my head in the clouds and of not living with my feet on the ground. Friends have speculated whether I wouldn't rather live in the world of my dreams and fantasies. That's why I use "reverie". Phantom actually has many meanings beyond the common one. It can mean "something elusive or delusive" or "a representation of something abstract, ideal, or incorporeal/existing in perception only".
So I am an elusive, abstract, ideal, incorporeal daydream; a fanciful musing existing in perception only.
(Which hopefully makes me sound much cooler than I really am! I had way too much time to think of these kinds of things in college when I started using the name, as you can see.)
