one of my tatoos was on my shoulder blade and i was told that tatoos in general hurt like hell and ones that close to the bone hurt worse. When I was getting it done I almost fell asleep!

Now ... stand with your back to a mirror, take a picture of the shoulder tattoos, flip them in Photoshop and share? Same artist? That looks painful ... no matter what you say! They are applied with a needle, right?

youll love it! its not really a stabbing kind of pain feels like you are being lightly scratched (atleast for me) its not bad at all.

On a scale of 1-10 how bad did it hurt?

I'm a bit of a Bon Jovi fan!    This was the first tat I had done by that artist.  I will definitely go back to that shop again.

Tattoos can be painful, it really depends on their location and your tolerance for pain.  I think I have a pretty high tolerance as most of mine weren't that bad.  The worst one was the cross on my spine, but it was done in memory of my dad so it was totally worth it.

8. a cross in memory of my dad

The cross on my spine hurt more than any of my others. I'd say maybe an 8 out of 10... I sat thru it - 2 hours with my teeth clenched the whole time! By the time we were done, my jaw ached as well as my back! LOL!

I tend to compare it to getting stung by a bee over and over.  It's not terrible, its definitely not that bad at all just a bit unpleasant sometimes.  For me, I always recommend for first time tattooers to get it somplace away from bone and generally less sensitive if your not sure about the pain thing, my first was on my forearm which generally isn't a very sensitive area. 

I also found there were two parts for me that had me gritting my teeth more than the rest.  When the outline had already been done, and the artist was going over the area again for the color and shading.  The area was already swollen and sore, so to go over it again really got my attention but it wasn't unbearablr or anything.  And the one on my wrist, whenever that needle got near the bone I had to remember to take some deep breaths lol.  Again, nothing terrible and after a few minutes the endorphins kick in and its not a big deal at all.

Do not mess with the affairs of monsters, for you are tasty and good with ketchup.

I have four tattoos so far. The first I got back in 2000 that is the shape of the state of Texas with the texas flag inside the borders. Too bad I was shitfaced and it looks more like South America now.

Number two is the aTm for Texas A&M on my right shoulder.

Number three is my daughter's name in Aurek-Besh on my left bicep.

The last one is the Dark Mark on my left forearm. My daughter was both simultaneously awed and worried that I could now summon Voldemort.
