Re: Favorite books

My favorite book series is War of the Spider Queen. Its about a race of people who like to betray one another so that they can get ultimate power.

He's about 180 degrees away from Sigler.

No gore, no bad language, not much violence. Still, good adventure stories.

My copy was on back order FOREVER!!!!! I finally got it and then had to wait for my husband to finish it.  I loved it.  My husband's only comment was he didn't think I'd like this one as it had a lot of military stuff in it.  What can't girls think tactics, guns, blowing Shit up.  I mean really, I think we're a lot more blood thirsty and demented when we have to be.  Look at what Margo became by the end.

...of the FDO's work, of course, with Ancestor still being my fav.

Outside of the FDO's work, I really love all of the novels by R.A. Salvatore involving his most well known character, Drizzt Do'Urden. Set in the Forgotten Realms world, it follows the Dark Elf through intricately crafted adventures and is fantasy writing at it's best. Salvatore does an amazing job with fight scenes but also follows the moral conflicts within the main character quite adroitly.

I started with The Icewind Dale Trilogy (containing The Crystal Shard, Streams of Silver, and The Halfling's Gem) and then moved to The Dark Elf Trilogy (containing Homeland, Exile, and Sojourn) which is a pre-history.  There are a bunch of books in the series but these first 6 have a special place in my heart.

Check out Homeland by R.A. Salvatore. This book and the following two in The Dark Elf Trilogy, involve the impact of the worshiping the Spider Queen on the Dark Elves of Menzoberranzan. Very cool stuff that shows how this race of Elves worship, serve and sacrifice to the Spider Queen.

    Re: Favorite books

Too many to list them all, but I'll start with a few authors off the top of my head. And please excuse any misspellings

V.C. Andrews, R.L. Stine, Kahald Rahad, Cornelia Funke, and Tamora Pierce.

Excuse the short list. My brain has died today.
