D&D a.k.a Dungeon and Dragons

So this is for all you out their that play what is your favorate type of character to play and why.  First mine is Drow race cause I love the dark and creepy things.  The class well stuck between two.  Right now I am play as a warlock cause magic is freaking cool and I have also played a fighter just because I wanted to be in the middle of things and kill.  I would like to roll with Scott and see what he would play as.  Let the crits flow freely and the fumble go to the DM.

Don't hate someone because they are different, just be glad that you have meet them.

Re: D&D a.k.a Dungeon and Dragons

Our gaming group doesn't play a lot of D&D; but when we do play, I usually take more heavily based fighters. Depending on the system, I tend to take Dwarves or my personal favorite, Goliaths because I like the size and strength factors.

Our group usually does a lot more of the Dr. Who platform games. I usually end up playing medic in those, due to the fact that I like keeping the team balanced and we usually end up with a lot of tech, face and fighting characters but no one who can put us back together. Also for balancing, our group is almost totally female and like playing females; so I typically play male characters to even us out a little, plus our GM sometimes likes to screw with us by setting up situations where we need guys and girls.

Anyone else prefer playing the opposite gender, either because there's too many of one gender in the group or just because it's fun?

I loved playing a thief, because I could stab bitches in the back. And I wasn't an elf or a dwarf, I was human, dammit! I was totally racists against the other races. Humans 4-eva!

Please don't ruin my heoric image of you, but I need to know; do you like playing thief becuase you enjoy stabbing players and NPCS alike in the ass when they're not looking?

I only ask because I've had this done to me way too many times

I played a shade rogue before and that was total awsome I would love to roll with scott so if you are ever in the Traverse City area or even Lansing area hook me up and see if you have time to roll some.  That would be awsome cause you are the best sci-fi fantasy authors out their now.

I totally agree, also could you imagine how amazingly insane a game GMed by Scott would be? especially if it was something like Call of Cthulhu where the whole point is to make all the players go crazy or die horribly.

I am now and have always been a Halfling Thief of pure Stoutish blood. in fact my gamer tag "Gorthain" comes from my first hobbit thief character rolled up in June of 1977 ( makin it the oldest gamer tag you ever heard ) there there was a copy of slavegirl of Gor on a nearby table and we had just finished a conversation of how Thain was a suffix meaning son of. I have my fingers crossed I will someday see it in a Sigler Book.

How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? Our group is all uni students, but we've got bunch of people who love fantasy games.

If you're really interested, there's some gaming groups online you might be able to get in on. Or if there's people interested and someone who can GM competently who could try setting something up.

I'm 27, I’ve googled around a little bit but I would be completely interested in reading up on it a bit more if you know where i can find some good literature

Not too sure, I only got into gaming because I had friends who were into gaming and pulled me in.

If you want to join an online group try checking out the Keep roleplaying site, we use it when we go home for the summer and it looks like there is a lot of D&D groups you might be able to get in on.

I would almost say that if there is enough interest, we could almost set something up with interested people from the site, using the Keep, we just need a GM and a time when we can all meet up (since timezones might be crazy)
