I've gained 3lbs the past three weeks. Between my infected tooth then having it pulled I haven't been working out as hard. Then there were the Brownie Batter Blizzards I ate while my extraction was healing. Today I did 60 minutes of Cardio and 10 minutes of Abs, burning 546 calories.

I've found that 5 -7 days of fruits and veggies plus beans and yogurt for protein do wonders for knocking of a few sin pounds rather quickly.
It's about as close to vegetarian as I get. Cause animals are too tasty to pass up.

I lost a pound at Balticon, but I gained 7 the week after because I was sick all week. This week I am working at whittling that back down again. And I will, because I am not afraid of a number.

I only know everything if you ask the right questions.
When my daughter was a year old I lost 55 pounds. I had gained quite a bit during my pregnancy and lost none of it in the 1st year of her life. I finally got totally fed up with myself and decided I had had enough. I've managed to hold the same weight for 7 years and I don't want that to change now.
I'm not trying to lose weight, just trying to stay healthy. I've always been a healthy eater - lots of fruits, veggies, salads. We don't keep soda, chips or junk food in the house as a norm. Plus, now that I'm 30 I want to have a regular exercise routine and stay active so as not to turn into my mother (simplest way to put it).
Still, two jobs, an 8-year old with friends and sports and activities, trying to find time to write, trying to find time to just chill, and trying to find time for a regular work-out is hard to keep up with sometimes! Though only if I want to add sleep to that list from time to time.

Quite surprised with the number on the scale, considering how far I strayed from the path and how long it's been since I've been seriously active.
Monday, back to the gym, getting ready for the next lacrosse session. Time to get serious again.

I've been to a lot of gyms and it seems to be a universal trait that the music will suck ass regardless.

It seems like the problem isn't so much time, as continuous time. It is hard to find time to go to a gym, so you don't always exercise, yes? Have you thought about creating a few 10 minute routines that you could do anywhere? Then when you've got 10 minutes or so to yourself, do one of the routines. Start by trying to get two or three of those small routines in a day. Do more if you feel like it.

I did try for a while getting up early to see if I could maybe do yoga before work and strength training after work, but me and mornings don't get along so well. Might be that consistent lack of sleep thing.
Still, I saw this and last night, though I only managed a small workout, it was at least something and I did find that only getting to do so much was better than saying I don't have the time and skipping entirely. I'll have to come up with some routines this week to keep it interesting. Thanks!!

Just recently checked my weight somehow I lost ten pounds. I haven't done a single exercise and I lost some weight. I believe it must have been all the liquor I have been drinking. You actually can say im on a liquid diet..........The extremely humble owner of "THE ROOKIE" #2487/3000
While doing anything besides walking? My workout is a little too easy now since I can't wear the weighted hand gloves anymore. They were tearing up the tendon in my elbow. The vest I saw at Target looked like the weights were a bit high so the added weight would be over my boobs. That may make me fall over doing the jumping lunge thingies. What I probably need is a weighted belt so the added pounds would be over my hips like they used to be. What kills us, doesn't make us stronger.

This is a pretty good idea. Great way to get folks pulling together. Just don't let whomever is trailing in the lists get dejected!

Ok, so 8 weeks ago I started the P90X diet, which is a low-carb, high-protein, variable diet that is pretty easy to maintain. 7 weeks ago, I started the P90X Lean workout program (more cardio, targeted towards weight loss), which gives me about 1 hour of pretty intense workout each day. I'd heard a lot of good things about the program, and was at my all-time highest weight.
I did the fitness test to get the baseline numbers, and took the "before" photos. I'm pretty sure my starting weight was 251. I need to double-check that because I could not believe what I saw this morning.
The plan with P90X is to weigh in at 30, 60 and 90 days. After my 30-day weigh in, I had lost 11 pounds and something like 5% body fat. Next Thursday is supposed to be my 60-day weigh in, but because I am doing the 6-week challenge, I had to weigh myself this morning.
I stepped on the scale hoping to be somewhere in the 230s. When I stepped off the scale, it said 222. I blinked, then got back on and tried again. Same result. I couldn't believe it. That's 29 pounds in 7 weeks. Now I'm starting to doubt that I'm remembering the starting weight! I forgot to check it (it's written down in the P90X book) and now can't wait to get home and verify.
I'm psyched. I've set my target weight at 210. Previously, i'd plateaued at 220 without doing exercise, so I'm hopeful that I'll actually be able to achieve this goal. I'm trying to do it for my knees, which I've abused over the years by jumping continuously up and down on them. They're hurting right now - in fact, that's the only part of me that does NOT feel better. I need to pay special care with my knees, even though I'm relieving some of the weight.
Now my 6-week goal doesn't seem very hard to achieve. :( I'm not changing the diet - i'll continue to eat sensibly and try to maintain the healthy food, and low-carbs (oh, how I miss my carbs...). And I start the P90X Regular program right after I'm done with Lean. That focuses more on muscle building than weight loss.

My 6-week challenge goal is 210, which is only 12 pounds down from where I'm at right now. That's not a very lofty goal, but I honestly don't know what I should shoot for. Just 2 months ago I was thinking, "I'll shoot for 210, but be happy with 220." Now that doesn't seem too unreasonable. We'll see!
I also realize that I have now crossed the threshold back to where I can feel better about using the chin-up bar. The one that I bought for P90X attaches to the door frame, but has a weight capacity of 225 lbs. I've been well over that all this time, but now I think I can rest knowing that I'm even less likely now to pull the whole door frame down with me. :P
