Turns out my starting weight was NOT 251; that was my heaviest so far, but when I started the P90X workout, I was only 243.5. It could be that I was 251 the week prior, but I don't know that for sure, so I'm just going to go with my starting weight of 243.5. So that means so far I've lost 21.5 lbs.
Still, a good achievement. And that makes more sense to me since I thought 29 lbs. was crazy.

That's still a really awesome effort, John.
I've been following a slow carb diet (similar to low carb) and it makes all the difference in the world for weight loss.
And thanks to GJ for setting this six week challenge up. I look forward to having some moral support in my weight loss efforts!
Why do they have to make carbs so darn delicious?!!

It's kinda frightening to see just how many foods have bad carbs in them. Having changed my diet, it's shocking to go into a grocery store and see how prominantly placed bad snack foods are and even more so, how cheap they are.
This week, I'm going to try lentils for carb replacement. I've never eaten them before so I am really hoping they taste good. If anyone has any recipe suggestions for lentils, send them my way!
You can't really go wrong with that. Delicious!

As a basic rule of thumb, if it is inexpensive and plentiful, it is usually bad for you. Especially if it is a convenience food.
Doc
I only know everything if you ask the right questions.
I'm down to 217, which is -5 for the 6-week challenge.
It's 26.5 down from when i started P90x, and 34 down from my heaviest, which was earlier this year, though I don't remember when. :)
