I thought the first one was Okay I was not expecting much and therebye was not disappointed. Kind of Dr. Who Lite.
Doctor Who - lite definately describes the Sarah Jane Chronicles. I liked the homage to the sonic screwdriver but found it interesting that the first alien they revealed was of the same make and model found in Torchwood Season 1 Ep. 7 (Greeks Bearing Gifts).
It will be interesting to see how much they can actually accomplish seeing as how they've limited themselves to not using the Doctor and Sara Jane didn't seem too keen on asking for help from Torchwood/other alien aware groups.
