I think I have seen the film Serenity but I believe it was part of a late night movie marathon so whilst some of it seams really familiar I'm still in the dark pretty much.

Is the film a bastardised first episode? cos some of that is really familiar but I seam to remember it being quite dark and zombies eating them all at the end. Maybe it was another film , maybe it was a dream based on the film, maybe I'm making it all up

It was described by it's creator as a the what the second season would have amounted to had they had the chance to make it.

It can be a stand alone, though, because they make the relationships clear and give you a tidbit of the Browncoats versus the Alliance backstory.  I believe the zombies you are referring to are the Reavers. They have mutilated faces and attacks the settlers at the beginning of the movie.  The first few episodes of the series also center around Reavers so I can see how it might be confusing.  The series never explains fully how the Reavers came to be, whereas that is the essential storyline in Serenity.

Fox actually killed two of the shows I watch recently. Terminator last year and Dollhouse this year. I hope they are not targeting Fringe. Oh, and 24 is done but I think it's time for that. I watched it every year and ultimately enjoyed it. However, it probably went on a few seasons too long.

so far really enjoying it .. my computer is on the fritz again so dunno when I can get the next installment

over and over.  Shadygirl and I own the series and the movie.  Just plain good storytelling.  Thanks Joss!

That the powers that be(stupid) that cancelled such an awe inspiring series should themselves be cancelled and may they take with them all the drivel they keep renewing.

One shot one kill? Please, I don't have that kind of time.

We have a cool cat, but as Red Forman says, "the thing about cats is, you can get the smartest one out there and it'll still shit in your house."  Bad cat.  Great show!  ;-)
