Donald Pleasence ... Tom Baker ... I love sci-fi/horror B movies! Scientist expirements with crossing humans with plants using his students as guinea pigs. Lots of little people and Baker as the mutant tortured soul who kidnaps the students for Pleasence's expirements ... hello everyone. Happpy almost Wednesday!

I hear that my name will be mentioned in Nocturnal! Pre-order a copy TODAY!

Took me forever to find this thread!!

The last movie I saw in the theater was Underworld: Awakening. If you're a fan of the series, I think you'll enjoy this entry. I really did! It made me want to go back and watch all the movies from the beginning! :)

The last movie I saw (in theaters) was Haywire.  Crap film.  The fight scenes are pretty good.  But the film itself is slow, a lame hole-filled plot piece of junk.  And it's not really spoiler-ish, but she is on her revenge quest, but finds the time to get corn-rows put in.  Ugh.

Outside the theater, the most recent movie I have seen was Red.  Great movie!  I read a blurb that a sequel will be coming in next August.

Not sure I even heard of Haywire. Guess it doesn't matter cuz based on your review, I probably won't be seeing it anyway.  I still haven't seen Red. I'll have to put that on my Netflix queue.

Anyone seen The Station Agent?  If so what did you think of it?

In theaters: The Artist. You wouldn't expect to be entertained by a silent black-and-white movie but you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Via Netflix: the Millennium Trilogy. I wanted to see the whole Swedish trilogy and I watched all three over the course of a Saturday night/Sunday evening.  I will warn you that the first movie is the darkest.

I apologize if I'm not really reviewing these movies, I prefer to recommend titles that I enjoyed, for whatever reason, and let others decide if they're worth their time.

My wife and I saw The Grey last weekend.  It was surprisingly entertaining.  We are going to see The Lady In Black tonight with our son and his fiance', it's more fun watching her (my future daughter in law) jump and scream during a scary movie than the movie usually.

We just got back from seeing The Woman in Black.  Same scare over and over again.  Quiet, dark, then suddenly a screaming face in the mirror, window, over the shoulder, etc. Save your money.

The Woman in Black was solid. It produced by the UK Studio Hammer Films and was a cool throw back to classic horror. It may not have been very original but it was a solid horror experience.

Favorite part was the gentleman selling beer to the crowd before the criminals got hanged. Hilarious!

i agree about the artist, but that being said it really proves why actors don't like to work with kids or animals as that dog stole the show

Loved ACT OF VALOR. Saw it this weekend with my hubbie and while I thought there were a couple of dialog problems (that interrogation scene on the boat should have gone all Jack Bauer) the movie as a whole was stunning. I didn't expect to be as affected by it as I was.
And OMG, I want one of those swift boats. DID YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THOSE BULLETS?!?!? Those are badass.

Saw Act of Valor this weekend.  I loved it!  I really liked the fact that the SEALs were not portrayed as impervious supermen and the bad guys were not portrayed as a bunch of brainless morons.  The best line for me was "the worst part of growing old is no one sees you as dangerous anymore".  I can't wait to own this on dvd.

I saw The Hunger Games....twice....within 6 days.  And both times I made an absolute fool out of myself by dissolving into a blubbering idiot, you know that kind of blubbering I mean...shoulders shaking, reduced to hiccups, embarrassing yourself publicly kind.
