Lost Boys. I love this movie. I saw it for the first time 4 years ago when I was 10. Freaked me out a little but it was one of my favorite movies at the time.

Why did treed yell at me? BTW, as they say at McDonalds, "Would you like some sauce with your McSOYLENT GREEN?"

Thespian. Doesn't seem right, but I'm going to run with it... So the drama department in most of these schools actually belongs to the math department! Who knew?

I know you know the classic liberal arts education traditionally included seven disciplines: grammar, dialectic, rhetoric, geometry, arithmetic, astronomy, music. Today, if the liberal arts school is worth its salt, it will include studies in art, literature, languages, philosophy, history, mathematics, and science. So where am I going with this? Well, I'm glad you asked! Just as the mathematicians of old were also philosophers, liberal arts schools of old (and new) teach mathematics and science as a part of what can only be the educational foundation. So who were you REALLY taking a shot at? (I'm guessing the vo-tech folks who never get farther than the diploma or GED.) You're a funny man!

"Drive-In Cult Classics." Eight glorious pieces of crap from the 1970s. It only took me about 15 minutes to fondly remember why I hated the 70s. I don't recommend renting this collection.

Re: Last movie you saw

with Angela Landsbury.

Apparently I put the wrong version of Sweeny Todd in my Netflix queue and ended up with a version that starred Angela Landsbury.  I've had it for a few weeks and figured...eh, why not watch it...at least I'll have something to compare it to when the Johnny Depp version arrives.  So I watched it today.  It was a recorded version of an actual stage play (intermission and all) and it was really quite cool!  Very macbre and dark but somehow Angela Landsbury puts such and energetic and happy tone to making meat pies out of Todd's victims.  Slightly disturbing but really neat... in a Nightmare Before Christmas kinda way.

On DVD its mediocre, I guess it would have been ok at the theater in 3D.

I cycled through a few post Halloween avatars and settled on this one of Nathan Fillion.  It was partially because of Dr Horrible but is actually referencing his time as Captain Mal on Firefly.  I've been watching the episodes on DVD and have his deliciousness on the brain.

Re: Last movie you saw

Painful movie featuring two of the dumbest people in the world as the "good guys." The bad guys in the masks were kind of creepy but nothing in the movie was scarier then the crisis management thought process going on between Scott Speedman and Liv Tyler's characters. I don't know if i'll recover from the amount of brain cells I lost watching this movie.

I don't read the script. The script reads me. - Kirk Lazarus
