What's with all the american cartoons?

Here in England, we enjoy the finer things in life.

Such as:

My Family, Love Soup, Red Dwarf, Skins

Better than american dad anyday!

cultural jokes don't always cross over well. just because we share the same language, we don't share the same culture or politics.

Red Dwarf is in fact hilarious. My Family is not. Anything with anyone from Monty Python, such as Fawlty Towers is fantastic. Or Farty Towels if you prefer

Haven't watched many sitcoms from the UK. The only ones I've seen are My Family, My Hero (I think that's what it was called. The one where the guy is from another planet?), and Keeping Up Appearances. As for the American cartoons, it's all about Family Guy. Lol.

Hate to say this, but Top Gear isn't a sitcom. It stands for situation comedy, and a sort of news show about cars isn't a situation

Teachers is mint all about well teachers, that kinda act more like kids than the kids most of the times. Or spaced, one of the 1st things simion pegg did, proberly still one of the best thing he has ever done

just started as a series on E4. They have it on the E4 player but not sure if you can get access to that in the states

I don't know if it translates well but I find it funny. worth a look if you want an irreverent super hero series

A couple of old classic British sitcoms are Yes Minister and Dad's Army. Both are great shows with proper humour. Not like a lot of today's sitcoms which seem to be totally covered in sexual innuendo.

Check out Last of the Summer Wine. It is the longest running comedy and the old episodes with Foggy are excellent. There are quite a few available on Youtube for those of that live in non-english speaking countries.
