The fact is, there is no such thing as a FULLY secure medium. A check can be forged, as can cash. With PayPal's popularity, of course it was bound to be hacked eventually. I don't know if your facts are correct or not, but they don't surprise me at all. It's the same reason there's more viruses for Windoze than Mac. More people use it so it's targeted more. Simple #s.

What really matters is that you made a kick ass product that supports our FDO. You get to determine what payment method makes your life easiest. End of story.

I merely wanted to add a testimonial that the patches are indeed worth whatever hoops the folks down under need to jump through. It wasn't my intent to cause additional friction between us.

But have you considered maybe a gift card as a payment? Something like an amazon gift card, or itunes gift card? Not sure it's feasible; just throwing it out there.

What I'm talking about is, for instance, a customer pays mycroft in an amazon gift card (for instance). I know it's not even the same as cash, but if mycroft were an amazon patron, then a gift card might be a convenient way to conclude such a transaction. I'm not saying mycroft provides a gift card; that would indeed be cumbersome. But i have often taken payment in taco bell for services rendered, no what I'm saying?

Basically Døm is an Amazon Marketplace seller is how they have it set up. I'm not certain on whether you can get it personalized if you go through Amazon though. You'd have to ping A to find that out.

Right now, if you order The Starter on Amazon, the order is fulfilled through Dark Øverlord Media, so an email to A probably would get you personalization. I don't think that's obvious from just cruising the site, though. At the point you add The Starter to your amazon cart, it tells you it's available NOW; when you are browsing, it tells you it is pre-order only. Odd inconsistency.

I'm pretty sure he said he'd personalize any orders they fulfilled prior to 9/1, or late August or something like that. I can't why the amazon orders fulfilled by DOM would be hard to personalize in that timeframe, but then again, I'm not the one who's doing it. :\

At any rate, I'm pretty sure mycroft would not use an Amazon gift card to purchase a copy of The Starter; my original suggestion of payment via gift card/barter was more of a way to let someone "gift" him with monies that could be used at a place he shops. Amazon was an example, as is iTunes. Victoria's Secret would work just as well. But if he he/you/mycroft doesn't shop online at amazon, that is probably not a very useful method of payment/bartering.
