THE STARTER: Tier One Team Logo Contest!

What is the logo for the To Pirates? For the Hittoni Hullwalkers? How about the Jupiter Jacks? Well, Junkie, those logos are now up to you (or someone artsy that you know). That's right, Dark Øverlord Media is launching "THE STARTER Team Logo Contest." We are offering $50 to each of 18 winning logos created for the Tier One GFL teams. Click here to get full contest details.
You can enter as many logos as you like, even multiple logos for the same team. Say three of your logos are chosen, you win $150. Say you get all eighteen? Then you get $900.
More important than the money is that these logos will be used for the remainder of The Galactic Football League series, which is six more books (including THE STARTER).
You do not have to be a Junkie to enter. Yes, you can go get your brother-in-law to be a ringer. I'm a freakin' mercenary here, I don't care who does the logos as long as they get done, and get done good (I've been hanging around the FDO™ for too long, as you can tell by my English).

PNG to JPEG? XnView
Youa re right, Inkscae only produces SVG vector image files, and only exports to PNG. However there are any number of free programs to convert image formats. I use an image viewer called XnView: http://www.xnview.com/en/download.html
You can export as a JPEG and control the compression to increase quality - I have been very happy with the files it is giving me. And, like virtually all the software I use day to day, it is completely free.

Now I know that the contest is on as I face the might of a "LITERARY STUDIES major and TECHINCAL WRITER"... the ground shall tremble with the clash of our awesome battle.
But wait, the crowd gasps as the Art-Geek whips out his credentials as well, revealing for the first time to the stunned spectators that in his current and previous lives he has harnessed the power as a TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR, CURRICULUM DEVELOPER, and, most nerdy of all, NAVY NUCLEAR POWER ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN.
Is this enough to turn the tide of power? Only time shall tell...

Start with the League of Planets teams
Scott, with your engineering background, apply that to the League of Planets teams (The New Rodina Astronauts, the Hittoni Hullwalkers and the Jang Atom Smashers). They are crazy for the engineering, science and math. And don't forget - simple isn't bad, it takes all kinds in this crazy galaxy.

Looking at all of them, I've got a few ideas already starting to percolate in my noggin, especially for the League teams... I'll be doing some rough sketches over this coming week to get ready for jumping right into producing them.
Just have to finish up a couple papers, quizzes, and a final exam this coming week... and then I can dedicate some time between terms.
Should have some of them into you next weekend for consideration... can't wait.
