A conversation I just had...

Me: Hey Steve (my co-worker/temporary boss), I just want you to know that I'll be late to our staff meeting on Thursday at 9am.

Steve: Oh?

Me: Yes. I have... something I need to take care of.

Steve: Ok. How long do you think it'll be?

Me: (run fingers through hair, grab back of my hand, sigh heavily) Hoo. Well, I'm not sure how long it'll take.

Steve: Ok, well, try to make it afterwards if you can.

Me: We'll see how it goes. No promises.

No matter how much bandwidth they plan for, I bet we can thwart them! Or we could go in an orderly fashion and assign people times based on their crack hits or last name or whatnot... NA! Crash, Crash, Crash!

I'm hoping I'll be able to help slam the server; I am traveling home from NY on the 31st, so if i have no delays, i'll be at home on the 1th, ready to order at the appointed hour (which I'm assuming is still 9am). So this year I don't have to make up excuses to not be working!
