I would think...

NYC would be closest for you being in central NY.  You could take the train from albany down to the city in like 90 minutes or so... I'm in CT so I'm like literally half-way between boston and NYC.  Not sure which is easier to hit.  Both probably would be alittle excessive since I need to take a day off to hit either.

Have you *been* to NYC?

I'm not a big fan of the place!  From my house it's around 5 hours to the city by car, but that would require city driving which I never want to try.  I would think a train (or bus) would take longer because of stops.  If I drive I would definitely need a place to stay the night, with or without bringing my daughter I can't do that kind of trip in one day anymore.  If I find a sitter and take the train or bus I might not need to stay the night, but if I want to use it as family vacation time then it wouldn't make sense to go without her!  I would rather drive longer to get to stay someplace sensible and make it a nice vacation treat for both my daughter and I.

Oh yeah, and did I mention I'm not a big fan of the place?  Tongue out

Yeah for the L.A. Stop!

Hooray! I'm looking forward to that stop and hearing all about the Australia takeover in person! And I'll probably be draging the nonjunkiejunkie along (again) if she doesn't have to work. Love when the FDO stops by.

we apologize for the inconvenience

Not again

The worst part about arkansas, nothing ever goes there. Honestly I have never even heard of an author, singer, muscician, or any other form of celebraty show signs of even knowing there is a state by that name.

Thank you ARealGirl * infinity

I was hoping for Portland, but the Beaverton Powell's is even better. The Cedar Hills McMenamins is one of the best McMenamins pubs in the area. Let me know I can bring my video camera to the bookstore.

If you are a Portland area junkie, let me know if you are interested in starting a sci-fi/horror bookclub. Meet ups would take place at various Portland metro brew pubs.

Heres a link to the menu for the Cedar Hills McMenamins:

To: ARealGirl, Thank you for your hard work and for bringing

To: ARealGirl, Thank you for your hard work and for bringing the FDO to Minneapolis, I am sad to say I was one of the people that did a bit of bitching about not getting any love here. In all honesty I have never really thought I would get to really meet one of my Idols. I hope you will be there so I can buy you a drink or whatever as a small token of appreciation. You are a true Rock Star! Oh ya I look forward to meeting you to Scott!

That's right, Olstar, where were ya?

I specifically sought out smaller markets for The Rookie Tailgate Tour, assuming that people in those markets would be fired up. We had six turn out for Little Rock. Where were ya for that one?

What I love about the folks who gripe and moan is .......

.......they generally pop up once, don't bother to register, and then we never see them again.

I usually bring a salt lick to comments from non-verified users unless I recognize the person and know they were just being lazy about signing in. Non-verified=Internet troll a large percentage of the time. Le Sigh.

    You da' man, my FNB!

Still pondering my navel about what stops I will make. Phoenix is a no brainer. It's whether I will make more than that which is in question.

Can you not do both? It's worth it if you can. Ask around.....

....if you don't believe me. I'm actually considering going for four stops this time around. I need to do some feasibility and logistics research.

So the number crunching is in process!  I am trying for MA, IL and Toronto!  I have a week's vacation time and I haven't called in sick for at least 4 years!

    UK?

Hey guys, I'm jealous. I hope the FDO comes to the UK, notably Scotland, sometime in the future. I realise it's down to publishers etc but we can only hope!
