That's right, bitches, THE TANK won a Parsec Award at Dragon*Con 2010. The Parsec Award is given to SciFi and Fantasy original podiobooks. THE TANK was named "Best Short Story." I'm pretty pumped up.
Also winning was my bitter arch-rival J.C. Hutchinssssss for his novella PERSONAL EFFECTS: SWORD OF BLOOD. The picture at left was taken just before my Parsec beat up his Parsec.
Special thanks to Arioch Morningstar for putting together the audio submission required to enter the Parsecs, and to all the Junkies who nominated it for the award.
If you haven't heard THE TANK, click here to hear it for free at Podiobooks.com as part of THE CRYPT BOOK ONE: CREW STORIES.

Ok, The Tank freaked me out...Everytime I listen to it, I think of Red Lobster, I will never look at those tanks the same...

Yes, it was glorious
Seeing our FDO accept the Parsec. The Tank is one of the more disturbing short stories... I guess the judges aren't squeemish. Though... if I didn't know better, I'd say that he was trying to sell us on the "Meat is Murder" theory of the PETA-ites... as long as we're at the top of the food chain I'm OK with that.
Why yes, apples. How did you know? [flickr-photo:id=4347154616] Pusher and member of the Gutter Sistren

The best parsec ever!
I loooved the tank! Such gruesome horror! Lovely!
Hat trick, check. I want one for Best Novel, dammit!!!
Although I suppose it is kind of cool to save the best for last. I'm still kind of dumbfounded that we've won three years in a row. I didn't think there was a chance in hell that we'd get one this year.

Hey, I'm not picky. I'd have been stoked if we would have.....
......scored one at the 2007, 2008, *or* 2009 Parsec Awards.
I'm really hoping that I will someday get to see Scott actually win one, even if it is on video. I don't do Dragon*Con, which is where the Parsec awards banquet is held. A series of unfortunate events has precluded all Junkies except those who attended D*C from being able to see Scott accepting his awards:
So I now believe that the banquet hall at Dragon*Con is inhabited by video gremlins. I do still really want to win a Parsec for Best Speculative Fiction (Long Form). IE-best novel. Scott only writes in four categories, and novels are his speciality. That is the gold ring as far as I'm concerned.
I'll have to start doing prep work for the 2010 Parsecs in a couple months. It will be interesting to see what all is eligible. I'm not sure there's anything *but* novels this year. There may be a couple short stories that aired towards the end of THE CRYPT: BOOK 01. I'll figure it out when the committee gives me the cutoff date. I'm still shocked at how few of the eligible items in 2009 Junkies nominated. I think it was less than 25%. Sure, it makes my job easier, but it still struck me as odd, particularly when I went through and gave them an a la carte list to choose from. Cest la vie.
