ROOKIE-related: Togo tragedy, why GFL has diplomatic immunity for team buses

One of the focal points of THE ROOKIE is the violence and hatred between governments. That hatred is the reason that GFL "team busses" have diplomatic immunity across all systems -- buses can not be boarded or searched, players can not be arrested or questioned (save for extreme situations).
If you haven't heard the story, the Togo national team was competing in the Africa Cup. The team bus was attacked and three players -- elite footballers in the prime of their lives -- were killed. The attackers now claim it the bus was the wrong target, but high-profile national athletes have always been targets and will always be targets.
A tragic situation that turns the joy and equality of sports into pure sadness.

the follow up news says something about politics affecting sport, as Togo have been kicked out of the world cup for withdrawing from the African cup of nations after the attack, the team couldn't even mourn their team mates in peace before UEFA kicked them out
